OK I been meaning to ask this, but bout a year ago I started noticing a weird feeling around my belly button. Well I notice when I lift my right leg a certain way, do ab workouts, flutter kicks. It feels like something is coming out and its a lil painful and the only way to make it go away is to stretch out and it is like it rolls back in. Does this sound like a hernia?? And if so why a year after surgery, not sooner. It feels kinda like a pulled muscle when it first comes out. Now they did go in thru my bely button then 3 mths later in belly button again to get gallbladder..........

Sounds like a hernia to me. I had one a little over a year out and just 6 weeks after my panelectomy(excess skin removed). I cant give you a definintive answer to why a year out it would happen other than to think our abdomen muscles are not very well developed as during our period of being obese they didnt get used properly.
I have noticed that since I have become very athletic that even though I dont concentrate on them they have definately become a lot stronger. I wouldnt ignore it as it can become a very painful problem get it fixed and do not agrivate it with exercise. Generaly it is about a six week healing process after the surgery which is usually an out patient procedure.

Well I figured I can wait til I get a tummy tuck. I told my doctor bout it he said if I did it was smalla nd not to worry after he felt the area. But since then its gotten worst. I mean I had to completely stop working out other night and it didnt slide back in as easy as it normally does. This just sucks cause I am so into my working out. So maybe just stop with the flutter kicks and abs I guess uggg!

You may be able to get insurance to pay for the tummy tuck as part of the hernia repair. Check with the doc.
Definitely get this thing looked at. I had several, and of course I waited way past when I should have, so my hernia repair was a bit more complex than it should have been.
You pictures are lovely!

Don't stop your workouts altogether unless doc tells you to. Just discontinue the ab/core stuff for now. You can do upper and lower body -- use lighter weights. And light cardio, of course! But check with doc for sure on any exercise restrictions.

They are a real pain! I had to stop doing anything but riding a bike or walking cuz just about everything else made it worse. I also think that I have another one as suddenly it feels like something is ripping and gets red hot! Be careful, I have a referral to a surgeon, but not until after the new year!

I've got 3 points in my abdomen that feel weird and tender sometimes after exertion. Nothing seems to help them but time. I can't stretch to fix it.... could these be small hernias? one is just below my open RNY scar, the seem to be about 2 inches below my ribs and about 4-5 inches to either side of te scar which is dead center. I'm not sure if it's just pulled muscles or what. THe pain isn't intense and not constant...in fact I probably wouldn't really have questioned it too much if I hadn't read this post but it sure has me thinking :)

Good luck Pagie!

Thanks Yhall! Yea mine is getting worst with time. I furst noticed it when i was shaving my legs, I usually lay back in the tub and lift my legs straight up to shave and whenever I did on my right leg I would get this painful strain, and I was like WTH was that. I just assumed it was a muscle for the longest time but nope a hernia. Great! This was like 9 mths ago. So it's fairly new! Guess we all get to enjoy these buggars!! FUN FUN! Thanks for all the support~
