Hi all,
My name is Deb and I live outside of Minneapolis..I am 4 months post surgery, and have lost 80 #. I am thrilled with my loss, and how I feel. I found your group when I went looking for information about exersise and WLS. I have been gaining weight for so much of my life, and exersise is just an unknown to me. I am walking now, but would like some input from folks in the know as to what to do to work on my new 'cottage cheese' areas. cool0012.gif

I am married to a wonderfully supportive guy, and have been for the past 25 years. We have 2 kids, a son who is off on his own(sort of) and my daughter who is a senior in high school, and has downs syndrome.
My WLS is one of the first things I have done for myself in a very long time.

I look forward to meeting lots of you.

Hi Deb and welcome to the neighborhood! I hope you will find it as inspiring as I do. Come often and read, read, read. I am sure some of the fitness experts will help you with your exercise program. All I do is walk, WATP tapes and swimming, weather permitting but it works for me! Hope to see you again soon! Congrats on 80 pounds lost too! biggrin.gif

As for the exercise..it does become easier and easier...well kinda! lol.. I say MOVE YOUR BODY and you will firm up your muscles. I worked out alot in the early stages and even with a trainer...till I had emergency back surgery in 2005. I have slowly worked my way back into exercise which consists of mostly WALKING and lots of it. I hit the gym when I can and get a better workout with weights and such but its taken me awhile. I also had two rounds of plastic surgery this year alone so you just gotta START MOVING! That is my point!

You'll get STRONGER EVERY DAY and that is what it's all about!! LESS FOOD, MORE MOVING!! party0002.gif

Welcome to your own personal excellent adventure! It is a journey I am sure you could never quite imagine a few years back.

Wow 80 lbs thats great you are amazing....glad to have you as a new neighbor and as everyone here suggests move, move and move... step up your exercise by change thats what I have learned here...Sarge has a great challenge for end of December.... Mrs Sandi has a way of getting us all moving and Mrs Judy is a exersice Diva along with Mrs Barbara so read, read and read you will find more ways to work your body and ways to not get board....I think everyone here will give you great advice to get you pumped up and ready for 2008....Good luck....hugs

Hey Deb --- Welcome to the Neighborhood and Congrats on your great weight loss so far. I am so happy to read you have done something (WLS) for yourself and are taking control of your health. You said the magic word around here "EXERCISE" as many of us so-called veterans swear by it. Be sure to check out the exercise & fitness forum and read JudyPetites December Fitness Thread. That is sure to inspire. I look forward to seeing you more often and hope you find loads of friendship and support here in our safe haven.
