If you take advantage of the 2 for 1 sale it will automatically add to your existing subscription - in other words you will be good through April 2010. Pretty great bargain, don't you think???


I wanted to mention that maintaining a secure and legally licensed message board is very expensive. Several boards allow advertising bots on their site - that means the search engine reads the posts and then posts advertisements in the form of member comments in the thread. Often the ratio is 2 authentic comments to one ad-bot comment. This advertising pays for the site (server space, bandwidth, tech support, licensing & renewals, etc) but it is annoying and distracting. It is my intention to NEVER allow this kind of invasion in our Neighborhood because it compromises our security and insults our intelligence. And that is why there is a minimal fee for upgraded membership.

And...I want to toss out the fact that as Foundation Members, we can always make a donation to help support the site! I like to end my year with a donation...gratitude for the safe haven that is here for me 24/7.

I want to add on to my subscription for sure.... maybe I am being tooo blonde here, but when I click on Purchase Paid Subscription:::I don't see this >> Holiday Special so what do I do??


Hope everyone had a refreshing and endearing Christmas. Mine was very reflective...and even though I didn't deny myself a taste of this and that I still lost 2 pounds this month. What a difference a TOOL makes!! That was the best gift of all to myself!!

As it is I am current on my subscription for now but it does not allow one to extend or upgrade with in the Purchase Paid Subscription page.

Is this something that can be remedied before the window of opportunity closes for the special?

We have spent a great deal of time troubleshooting this problem today and now have a support ticket in with our IPB help desk because some people are seeing and successfully using the "Holiday Special" link. They will be back in the help office tomorrow. In the meantime, here are a couple of options:

If you have an exisiting PayPal account you can "send money" to kayebailey@livingafterwls and indicate "Holiday Special" and I will personally update your account to extend the subscription.

You can follow this link: Introducing The Neighborhood and click the "Foundation Donation" at the bottom and manually purchase this Holiday Subscription Special and again, I will personally update your account.

You can mail a check to LAWLS, PO Box 311, Evanston, WY 82931 and again - I will personally honor your purchase.

So sorry for this problem - we are at our wits end today.

Celadon, speaking about a different website, mentioned in another post " It also makes me appreciate the LACK of advertizing here in the neighborhood. We should all thank our lucky stars that this is where WE call home. The atmosphere is so different!"

Keeping advertising out of the Neighborhood is an important priority to me which is one reason we ask members to upgrade to premier paid subscriptions at a very reasonable rate. Other sites are loaded with advertising and some even charge members a fee to have the advertising removed. Other forums allow AD-BOTS to crawl their site and post advertising every 3-4 posts of a conversation. Bariatric sites, especially that great big one we all know, are notorious for heavy duty advertising. But don't you just get tired of it? That's why in our little safe haven you will never have to sift through pop-ups, flashing ads or ad-bots.

So if you are thinking of upgrading to Premier Citizenship now is a GREAT time --- .08 cents a day for 2 years in the Neighborhood. Pretty cheap rent!
