Have been waiting on edge worried that the (Scipps) wt management MD wouldn't agree with me about needing WLS but....he did agree and was very complementary about how in depth I'd thought this out.
Unless insurance (Pacificare) creates unforeseen barriers, there are a few things I need to take care of over the next few months (fortunately my dh and I had already been to an orientation and I'd had thorough labwork up done recently) but somehow this seems to be falling into place as if it was meant to be.
Many thanks to the neighborhood for all of the candid discussions. The doctor even mentioned "trading addictions" topic along with several other common themes here on the message boards.
So excited about 2008!
Happy New Year!

Excellent news, Nana! NOW, the wait truly begins! Sometimes that wait can seem like an eternity, so be sure to stay busy and don't worry too much. It's going to happen for you!
Congratulations, I'm doing the happy dance for you tonight!

Nana,
I'm excited for you also. Spend your waiting time doing things that will help you after surgery. Read, read, read! Plan for/prepare meals for your family for the first few weeks. Give your house a thorough cleaning. It will keep you busy & ease the waiting period.\
Keep us informed.

So yesterday was the first meeting with the nutritionist. She gave me a lot of information and emphasized the changes ahead.
The neighborhood is definitely providing sound advice.......! It felt like I'd already been introduced to a lot of what she covered.
Thanks, once again.

Nana...I suggest utilizing the nutritionist as much as you can. I went into my surgery not knowing anything other than I needed it to survive. The rest of my knowledge I have gained by reading reading reading. Keep us updated please!
