Every year since the surgery, I've tried to find a physical activity that is just for fun. The first year was tennis. I really like it. I try to get out there every time I can find a partner. I like it so much, some times I just do it against the cement wall!
The next year I tried golf. Not as fun. Too hoity toity, too crowded, too many people trying to "make the scene." I'll wait until it's not cool anymore. I do love the golf courses, love the challenge, love walking around out there. Just hating paying money to have to battle the terminally rude.
Ok, so on to this year... What new thing do I want to learn to do for fun? I've been threatening to learn to ball room dance. I'm so darn shy. So I'm not sure. Kayaking? Hmmm. Horsemanship?

Aloha,
Can't wait to see what you come up with.
I been thinking of taking an RV trip to the East Coast. Never been Rving, have the time to do it and it looks like it would be an adventure of a lifetime. Been checking it out.
Or maybe ride a train, the amtrak, somewhere just for the sake of traveling.
So much to do, so much to see and WLS has made it possible.
Hugs

I'm interested in learning to line dance!
I've always wanted to take an RV trip!
I took Amtrack from NY to CA a few years ago and it was wonderful!
My suggestion is to go for the biggest room you can afford, those little sleeping cars get cramped after a while (even after WLS I imagine!

Believe it or not, and this is kind of embarrassing, but I used to be a competitive trampoline athlete and I've always wanted to do it again. I think I may have to give it a whirl. I'm afraid now I'll jump right off the thing and break my neck, but I'd be laughing right up to the last minute. I thought about having my husband dig a big pit in the yard so that the thing would be ground level... I am great at thinking up meaningful "projects" like this for him!
Thank you for the kind words and well wishes. I want to RV too. We're shopping for one and planning a route for this summer. Don't know if we can afford the gasoline...We'll see.

Sandi, trampolines are so much fun! I think you should go for it! After all, why should kids have all the fun?????
Meliss, come on over to the east coast on your RV trip. My son just bought the house next door and it has a great RV setup with both electricity and septic. Of course, you would have to stay here with me but you could hook up your RV next door for whenever the craziness here got to you! Seriously, think about it, it's free!

ummm....or roller bladding (which scares the bejeebers out of me 'coz afraid of getting hurt)
or.....how about archery (picturing Sandi with a bow and arrow....

I'm not too graceful. I used to be a roller queen. Many that kind of dates me, doesn't it? YIKES. Thanks, Steph!
I think that you should get a horse! Ride on the beach...super cool!

@ Kim: Laughing--yep. I can see me on my horse, long hair flowing out behind me! My horse galloping like mad through the wet sand. I'd be just like Lady Godiva! And then Fabio rides up alongside me, and we reach out and hold hands and we throw back our heads and laughing wildly at the sheer magic of the moment.
Then I wake up because the old plug I'm on is heading straight for the blackberry patch again and I can't make the old gelding turn around! I'm stuck in the bushes until the horse sees a snake at which point we start galloping alright, straight for the highway! Kids in pickups race along side of us until we get to the pile of driftwood at which point old "Gluepot" stops dead in his tracks and launches me off into the wood pile.
Ok, this is my wake up call, thank you Sarge! I'll just stick with the massages I guess.

Oh my gosh, Sandi. You are so eloquent and paint such a vivid picture with your words. My sides are splitting, I am laughing my head off. I absolutely love the trampoline too. However, I can't jump on one without laughing so hard that I wind up peeing myself. Hmmm, I need to put my thinking cap on and find myself something really fun to do too. Hugs.
Oh Sandi...love it...love GluePot...laughing...hard...
Thanks for the big giggle at the end of a very long day.
xoxo
