This morning I thought I'd try something new. I've been using shakes a lot for breakfast because they're quick and I'm sure to get all of my protein in if I have a shake for breakfast.
I had gotten some strawberry mix & a recipe said it was great in Crystal Light lemonade. I about gagged when I tried it. So, how to use the strawberry protein???
I usually use 1 cup water & 1 cup skim milk in my chocolate morning shake, but thought I might not need that much because I was going to add strawberries & they would add a little volume. So I did 1/2 c. water w/ 1 c. skim milk...dumped in the protein & blended...so far so good. Now I added 10 frozen strawberries, a few at a time & blended. "Well, maybe I toss in a small banana too. I like strawberry banana stuff." So in goes a small banana and a couple packets of Splenda. You can imagine the outcome! In volume I ended up with 2 12 oz glasses filled to the brim & still had some in the blender!!!!!! This was too funny!
Guess I'll use no water, fewer strawberries, 1/2 banana next time. Or... maybe I'll just not try to make up my own recipe! Better leave that up to Celadon.

Awwww, how cute!!! I have no idea as to what to mix...although two years out, I am new to the make my own shakes part...last night I tried some sugarfree frozen oj, unflavored protein, half a banana, and some yogurt...let me tell you...ick! I think I will just follow our trusty Celadon's recipes, and save my taste buds too!!!

I love experimenting w/protein shakes in the ole blender! So far, my personal favorite is Spirutein chocolate protein mix from GNC mixed w/ 3/4c ice and 1c low-sugar milk and 1oz of raspberry sugar-free DaVinci coffee syrup from Walmart. The vanilla DaVinci is good when you add a little banana or strawberry, and I love to throw in 3 or 4 frozen blueberries w/the Kahlua flavor.
What's the worst that can happen....?

Variety can be fun!

This is really funny Jeanie! I can just picture the horror as the liquid begins to multiply........
Anyway, DON'T GIVE UP!!!!!! Don't you realize that some of the greatest recipes ever made were mistakes? That's when you improvise! Keep trying, you will get it right and no harm done.

I have to admit the taste was great!
Just glad it didn't pop the top off the blender. LOL
