Hi everyone! I just recieved my order of a protein pack sampler, and it has a few products that I haven't seen before, and was wondering if anyone had tried them, and if so, with what result?

Profect protein beverage : protein 25 g
fat 0
carbs 0
sodium 64 mg
potassium 31 mg
This one also has alot of different vitamins in it. I tried the citrus berry this morning, and it tasted like what I would imagine an isopure 'shooter' would taste like if they made one?

Proteinex: Food supplement Use 2 TBSP daily <15 g protein> in anything you eat. The problem I see with this one is it has 60 calories...is that normal for a protein liquid supplement? I have never tried a liquid supplement before.

Pro-stat: protein 15 g
calories 60 <ahhh, this one has calories too!>
carbs 0

Any information anyone has about this, I would appreciate! I am currently printing things from the library to try to gain more knowledge...but there is ALOT to read!

Sorry, Marrianna, I'm no help.

How did your audition go?

cool0012.gif Bejean, you are SO sweet to have remembered and asked. I got the part! And I told the women in wardrobe to keep their sewing machines accessible, because I am dropping weight again, and will keep them busy! <on day 5 of the plan, and have dropped 13 lbs, have control of my pouch again, and I can feel when I am full again!><yay!!> I cant wait til the old saying "the show isnt over til the fat lady sings" isn't in my mind during my final performance of the evening!

BeJean
Congratulations! Marianna! You, diva, you.

Your protein supplement sounds great. How's it taste?

Very cool about you getting the part. Rock on, my sistah!

Thanks! I have only tried the Profect so far, but it was actually pretty good. I think I will definitely order that again...
I will try a new one every few days depending on whether or not my pouch is having a good day. If anyone has tried any of these, please tell me what you think. Thanks!
BeJean
Marianna,
Is that arrival date right? You couldn't have had your WLS on Jan. 9 & then auditioned...you didn't, did you?
Gina
Well ALL protein has calories. You really just have to watch out for the carbs/sugar. My protein powder has 125 calories per serving and I drink 3 to 4 a day. Very Low in carbs/sugar though. But you do want a supplement that is mainly from whey isolates cause then it has the branch chain amino acids that make it good for you. I took some liquid vial protein that was made from collagen and my Dr told me it doesn't have the amino's that the body needs. sign0040.gif Thats why all my hair was falling out! The protein that I was taking wasn't doing ANYTHING for my body. Might as well not have taken any! So really check out the BCAA info on the labels to make sure that they are present. smile.gif

Gina, thanks for that info...I was so concerned about the protein, carbs, and calories, that I was overlooking the rest!

Jeanie, I had my surgery 11/05...just hadnt figured out how to change the arrival date yet! <I will work on this tonight since I can't seem to sleep>

Marianna,

While I've not done theatre, I do sing and toally related to your comment. Be faithful to the tool, and that saying will become just what you called it, an "old saying" and no longer a part of your experience. cool0012.gif

I've not tried the protein powder you mentioned. After trying a number of them as a new post-op back in March 2005, I finally found I really liked Champion Pure Whey Stack Banana. YUM! It has 130 calories, 23g protein, 2.5g fat, 2g sugar, and only 3g carbs. It mixes very well without getting all foamy.
