OK everybody scoot down the bench a little, there's a new loser on the bench. My lap rny was 0700 Friday morning and all went well. The long and short of the rest of the story is I had a very unremarkable journey. My pain never got over a 5 and all body functions resumed normally. I was up and walking quickly and all the vitals were good.
Being well prepared on what to expect before I went in was the best thing I could have done. It took all the stress out of the equation. I had a wonderful hospital staff including a student nurse who was like human sunshine.
I came home yesterday afternoon and have been walking and sipping. Dinner last night was cottage cheese and all went well. I slept 8 straight hours and woke up feeling significantly better. I'm sipping peppermint tea as I type.
I feel very blessed that all has been progressing so well and pray that will continue. I also appreciate everyone's support here very much.
Thanks again for everything and it's nice to be over here on your side of the bench......

I ditto that sentiment. Even after gaining too much weight with my baby and not losing it, I STILL have never regretted the surgery. In fact, I credit it for my having such a wonderful NORMAL life since!

and Congrats!!

Doug,
I agree 100% with you that being prepared made all the difference in the world. My surgery was a week ago today and I just got back from going to a movie with a girlfriend and I had to have open RYN with gall bladder removal. I'm following everything everybody told me and all is well.

Doug, I am so glad that your surgery was uneventful. I agree that being so well prepared took the stress out of the situation. I too had an uneventful surgery and a quick recovery due to all the help that I received both with a great surgical team, hospital staff and right here in the hood.
I look forward to following your progress. Best of luck to you!
