Okie dokes kids! How did I ever manage without the incredible info
I glean EVERYDAY from this group?

Sandi gives me the heads up on protein supplement isolates like IsoPure that allow me to finally use
protein shakes I could never tolerate before (I was using unflavored supplement w/ milk and
find out five years out that I am lactose intolerant)
Damon tells me about the yummy goodness of CytoSport Muscle Milk for more options.
Kim and others pique my interest by throwing all kinds of shake goodies into their Magic Bullet...
(I think I got those sources right)
My Magic Bullet arrived yesterday and it is a magical kinda thing! I looked all around the web
to check prices. The ones I found ranged from $57-$90.00 per unit. I finally found a refurbbed
unit on Amazon for $45.00 with FREE shipping.

Here's what to love about these gadgets:
no assembly
powerful enough to handle ice easily (nice long cord)
you mix items in the cup you drink from, so
FAST easy clean-up
no splashing
very small counter-top footprint
produces the perfect shake!

I'm so pleased and grateful for all the great hints and product tips and recipes everyone is so eager to
share. Being able to incorporate protein shakes in my daily nutrition plan has made a BIG
difference.
For those unfamiliar with said, Magic Bullet... here's what to look for:

Hi...I was just wondering what the clean-up is on this machine? Is it only the cup and blade that have to be cleaned, or does the base have to be cleaned as well. I make 2 - 3 shakes a day, and the worst part about it is taking the thing apart and cleaning it, you know? And it you don't get all that soy protein cleaned out, yuck! It smells terrible!

Anyone know about this??

NO clean up issues at all!!! That's the beauty of it..
You drink from the container you mix in and the blade takes a quick rinse
with warm water and voila! Done!... Perfect...
Just look out for the best price as there is a BIG difference depending on
where you get it.
There's also a kit with more stuff, hence.. it costs more. But it looked like stuff
I would NEVER need or use. So I went with the basic 17 piece kit...
Same powerful motor and sturdy mugs... CLEAN-up Couldn't be easier!

Hello!
I got one yesterday, too! I'm still pre-op but my daughter is weight training and wants to make protein supplement fruit smoothies so purchasing it now worked out for both of us.
The only thing you can't put in the dishwasher is the electric base. This little gem is a dream, isn't it.
One thing they said to check was the rubber seals on the blades when they come out of the dishwasher as they may come loose but, overall, easy as pie.....errr...a fruit and protein smoothie!
Costco $49.99, the same box as in your picture.

I LOVE MY MAGIC BULLET!!!!!
It is one of the most used appliances in my kitchen. I have had it for a couple of years but never used it as much as I have since my WLS. I like the two sizes of the jars too. That way, I can mix something small or large depending on how fast I am going to drink it. I won't even go into the great salsas and sauces I can make in an instant to put over grilled or broiled fish! Or any meat for that matter.

I am so glad that you have one. Happy bulleting!!!! cool0012.gif

sign0031.gif This sounds/looks too cool! NOW, I MUST go buy 1 of these..."gems" as you say! tongue0022.gif

Now...tell me...how is this different from my PERFECT emersion blender? I love that thing! I've seen this "Magic Bullet" that you all speak of at Costco and have walked past it without even a second glance.
Darien
A friend offered to lend me her Magic Bullet - perhaps I'll give it a whirl!
(Get it - whirl! Sometimes I just crack myself up!)

hmmmm, Let me see, Kim....
How is it different??? If I'm picturing an immersion blender as a hand-held gadget w/ motor in the handle(????)
Do these make slushies out of ice?? Don't they splash??? I have never seen ANYthing to match the Bullet
for no mess...slushy ice and QUICK as a bunny clean-up....
Tell us more about the immersion blender system....
we need to know all angles here!
Angp77
Just as an FYI. The bullet lasts forever. Well, I have had mine for 4 years and it works well. Les makes 2 shakes a day and I usually make at least one and that little motor is still working strong and crushing all the ice. Gotta love that. I think my favorite part is putting the lip on and drinking right from the blending container Oh and the lid as well.

Kim
Hey MF...the immersion blender that I have is by Kitchen Aid. I use it all of the time! For my shakes, I put my ice cubes, protein powder, berries and water into a Tupperware Tumbler...then give this a couple of pulses. Ta-da. I use it more for turning a pot of veggies into a smooth soup!

Wow Kim.. Can't beat Kitchen Aid...
I have the big monster mixer I grew up with at home...
It's crazy great! And DH got me a new Kitchen Aid coffee maker
for Christmas and dig this... I use the SAME French Roast coffee
beans, grind them in the same burr grinder but this coffee maker
makes a TOTALLY different cup of java. It is Starbuck's quality for sure!
The same grind in my Mr. Coffee was mediocre joe. The K-Aids pay
attention to the right stuff... It heats the water to a higher temp...
and puts the water through a filter first... and there's a shower head-like
water sprayer to drench all the grounds from the get go. Beeps when it's
finished brewing... very nice and was NOT a top of the line Kit Aid Coffee
appliance. SO there you have it. I'm sure your immersion blender is
delightful!
mickeefynn
Angie, nice to know yours has lasted over the years. I've burned up a few blenders in my day!
Celadon
Kim, I have that imersion blender too. I adore it and anything else made by Kitchen Aid. You just can't mess with perfection. However, I found my magic bullet at Target for 25 dollars and it was the expanded kit no less! So, being a gadget gal, I bought it. I have never been sorry I did because they both have their uses. Nothing on earth though compares to my Kitchen Aid stand mixer, the KING of all gadgets! There are so many attachments, my hubby is STILL buying them for me as surprises and I have had the mixer for 6 years!

I LOVE my bullet!!!!!! I use it every day!

Darien, get one it is the most used tool (other than my band!) that I use. I have even blended up meatloaf in it when I couldn't take it whole. Tastes yummy that way, too! Soo many uses!
Kim
Meatloaf in a Bullet??? Man, that thing IS magic!

Celadon...I love my giant KA mixer. It USED to make bread like nobody's business! The "dough hook"...who'da-thunk-it?

Okay...keep posting these testimonials. Perhaps I'll buy one.
Sandi
I love my bullet cuz it crushes ice perfectly, takes up no room, cleans up with a quick swish and is simple and clever. I use my lil snowie in the summer to make shaved ice treats, but nothing beats the bullet for quick and easy and fabulous protein drinks. I also love mine for making meat salads, egg salads, shrimp salads, etc to put into tomatoes or peppers for a super fancy dinner...

I was convinced before I'd even seen one. If the Neighbors refer to a gadget as
a "must have," I MUST HAVE it! And RIGHT you are! Wouldn't give up this li'l wonder!
Yet another "FIND" here in the Neighborhood!.
.. I WANT Kimmie's smart scale next! (gonna have to budget for it). angel-smiley-002.gif

Hello

I am on my 2nd one the only problems i have had are the gear in the base unit stripped on my first one an now after a few years use i find the little nipples on the cups breaking off here an there. Now if this happens to you dont toss the cup, simply rotate it untill you find the 1 slot that needs to have a nipple in it. Mine has mixed many a shake!!

Adam,
I did the same thing until it was dead! SOOOO I went onto EBAY and looked just for the base. I FOUND ONE and I was back in business. sport-smiley-009.gif

Another eBAYer! I bought 99% of my skinny clothes there. Great designer duds for next to nothing! Love it!
