I'm just curious where you draw the line as far as carbs are concerned for the day? What's your magic number? Do you count carbs or just worry about getting protein first and let the 'carbs fall where they may', so to speak?
I try to keep mine below 30-35 per day.

For me...it's just about making sure that the carbs that go in are veggies, some fruits or whole grains. I don't pay special attention to the number of grams.
I work to keep mine around 30-35.

During the losing part of the journey, I kept it to under 40grams. Now that I'm in maintenance, I am not as sure. My magic number varies depending on the phases of the moon, etc. I am more concerned about the kinds of carbs I eat than the gram count, but I try to never have a day where I've eaten more carb than protein.

I have to admit here that I usually don't actually count the carbs. Like both Kim and Sandi, I try to be sure I eat the right carbs. Then, at the end of the day when I check all the numbers at FitDay, it is usually way under 40, most often around 30 to 32. When it is over 40, I do make an effort the next day or two not to eat so many carbs. That seems to work for me. There are so many things that we must count or measure that this is just one more thing we need to learn. It is easy for me not to make an issue of it.
You are good at tweaking recipes and you seem to know the difference between good and bad carbs so you are well ahead of many people.

The carbs I eat are at my evening meal, and are from veggies generally. If I have to have a protein bar during the day, I try to make sure it is LOW in carbs too...
I generally hit 20-30 carbs a day right now...and it was confusing as all heck to figure out the numbers at first. Fitday was very helpful...
I have been making sure to get all my protein in...and water. The other numbers <carbs, fat, sugars, etc> arent AS important to me...but I still keep an eye on them.
I try to eat very low carb foods since I am just off the 5dpt. I would say that if there are carbs, i dont know it. lol. I guess from my veggies and I make sure that my RTD protien shakes are low carb too. I dont really count them tho. But I would like to think

they are under 40 as well.

I'm like Kim. Most of my carbs come in the form of veggies, legumes or whole grains (not even fruit at this point). As such, I don't pay attention to my numbers. I just try to heed the rule of 2 bites protein to 1 bite veggie.
