action-smiley-065.gif Hi all!! I dont even know how I happend upon this site but here I am. A bit lost and honestly a bit scared! My name is Sareena,I am 34yrs old (5ft 1) and had RNY 07-05-03,starting weight of 246,lowest 120 (for like 1 day) and now maintaining between 135-140 for the past 2 yrs now. The thing is I can't seem to get below 135 no matter what (except when I had the flu and couldnt eat for 3 days i did reach 133 but I love food and could never starve myself to lose). Also to be honest I hate to exercise,I stick with it for a while but easily get bored, move on to another form of exercise, get bored, move on,etc and eventually just give up all together.
Tomorrow is my day 1 of the 5 day test. I am very anxious, scared and excited.

I am having plastic surgery on Feb 25th (lower body lift), I have been waiting for a long time to get this done but have gained 3 lbs in the past 2 weeks due to eating everything in site... I know its because I am excited AND nervous to go under the knife again, the pain, the recovery etc.

I am hoping this 5 day test(which sounds too good to be true) can get me back on track and give me the kick in the butt that I amso desperately needing.
I have been sitting here for over an hour reading all of your posts, questions, answers and successes. Took me about that long to to figure out how to post something myself.

I need all the help I can get.

Thanks for listening.

Sareena, the 5dpt really does work! I recently finished it, and have much more control of my pouc, and am using it as a tool as it was intended, and as a bonus, lost weight too! You can do this...just make your plan, and stick to it! Make time to exercise...I found that it is what got my mind off 'grazing', and back on track and focused!

Yay cool0012.gif cool0012.gif cool0012.gif on your lower lift...let us know how you are doing on your 5days!

wub.gif Oh my...I hope that I clicked the right place...
My name is Deb, I am from the Chicago area and am 8 years out of a gastric bypass. I "surprised" myself for my 40th birthday with the surgery and it was the best present ever!!! I weighed in at 287 and lost 150 lbs. I was able to keep it off for 6 years. About 2 years ago I started to creep back up. I am so glad that I watched the View on Friday and found this website. Tomorrow I start the 5 day plan!!! Thanks to all of you for such a warm welcome.

Hi, and welcome, I to am a newbie to the site, actually I am a newbie all the way around, my surgery was just January 9th. The site was a little intemidating at first but I am slowly but surely getting the hang of it. Sounds like you did wonderful on the WL. I have been reading all of the posts and I only hope I can do as well. Sometimes I get scared and wonder if maybe it won't work for me.....but then when I try and eat and I find myself so full after just a few bites I tell myself I can do it. Good luck on your up coming surgery, just think how wonderful you will feel. Take care and keep posting.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I'm still having some trouble navigating thru this site. I'll get the hang of it sooner or late! I'm ready for day 1 tomorrow,I have the split pea and ham soup simmering on the stove as I type!!!

Hi Sareena and welcome to the neighborhood! I am glad that you found the site before your upcoming surgery. It is best for you to be in the best possible shape before you go under the knife.

Stick with it, there are so many people here that it has worked for. Your determination is obvious since you already are making soup for day one and two. Good for you!

Debster, welcome to you too! Hope that you find everything that you need for success and stick to it too!

action-smiley-065.gif Hi Sareena - I found the site this yesterday and registered this morning. So I am very new and very lost. I am 66 years old and had my surgery 10/26/06. My my starting weight was 267 and I weighed in this morning at 159. I don't really want to lose any more since I am 5'7" but I can't seem to hold. My doctor wanted me to stop at 170 lbs. I go back to see him in two weeks. I am so glad to have found the site. Hopefully it will give me a place to voice my fears and concerns.

I am thrilled about your surgery. I have not been able to get mine approved by my insurance company yet.

Hi Sareena, sign0016.gif

Your story sounds a lot like mine. I only WISH I had found this site while I was fighting with those 10 lbs. Unfortunately, I didn't find it until now. But that's o.k., it'll work just the same (I just have to keep on it a little harder for a little longer).

The 5dpt absolutely DOES work. I am on "day 6" (which is basically a continuation of day 5) and am down about 12 lbs. in 3 weeks. I was at a point where I was about to give up. I had failed my one last chance at weight loss. I didn't know how it happened, i was in a coma for a few years on auto-pilot and I woke up fat! Well, not exactly, but I definitely had blinders on - add a marriage, baby weight, stress, happiness, sadness, fun, boredom, well, you get the picture - and you end up heavy again if you're not careful.

So, don't feel bad - just hope on the 5dpt train and enjoy the ride! cool0012.gif
