Hey y'all. I'm five years out and just discovered (by accident) that I have Osteopenia - the precursor to Osteoporosis. I found out when I tripped and broke my arm. My first broken bone! So, I had a DEXA scan and then came the diagnosis.
I had been taking Tums for calcium (Yeah, I know, CaCO3 as opposed to Calcium citrate - it was the only Calcium I could tolerate!) and my blood tests always showed a good level of calcium. But calcium isn't everything, apparently...
Just wanted to warn y'all to get those scans!! I've always had good strong bones, so to now have Osteopenia is a real shocker!!
