Hi everyone! (especially swimmers)

I have swam myself right out of any swim suits I own! They weren't really meant for swimming laps anyways.

What suits do you wear for your fitness swimming and where do you purchase them ?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
I can't wait to buy some new appropriate suits!

You might check Nike's website. I have a suit by them which is really comfortable and cute too! You can't beat that....

I don't have an answer, but a suggestion. You might want to check with a sports shop (like where the local swim team would get their suits) and get suggestions from them on what holds up well. Getting something sturdy that won't cost you an arm and a leg will be your biggest problem.

Jeanie,

That is a GREAT idea!
Believe it or not, I am going to go RIGHT NOW to the sporting goods store.
I was bored and looking for something to do anyways!
I will report back later.

Good luck with the something good that doesn't cost you an arm and a leg part. I like the speedo suits but they aren't that cute. If you are losing still you might want to go with something less. BUT if you are pretty close to goal I would say splurge and get something that makes you want to put it on!

I swim in something that isn't quite "safe" to swim in...so let me know what you found to work for you!
Gina
Yes please remember if you aren't at your goal or at least close you will have to buy another bathing suit down the road. The suits I bought last summer fall right off my body now so I bought some new ones. I don't really swim laps though. Just cruise around the pool so I bought fashion over function. LOL

I love the Speedo swimsuits with Jammers. Great for laps and water aerobics. Not for laying on the beach, but I burn easy anyway nature-smiley-008.gif .

The Jammers are swim shorts worn under your suit and go to mid thigh, which is my "problem area"( looks like wrinkled plastic bags! Yuk!) so it covers them nicely and people always ask me where to find them. I find them at Big 5 sports stores.

Hope it helps! action-smiley-066.gif

I have two bathing suits I bought a couple of years ago for scuba diving. I have worn them in pools, fresh and salt water and they are still in nearly new shape. I bought them from H2O Wear. http://www.h2owear.com/Merchant2/merchant....;Store_Code=h2o

The ones I have satisfy my need to remain as covered as possible. I bought this one:

Hey Gretchen!

I don't have advice, I have a question. Think 6 months back: Could you have imagined having this "problem"????

HI Ladies!
Last summer I found Catalina tank suits in several colors at Wally World here in Pearland, Texas. I do water aerobics at the Y here and they are wonderful...no fading or stretching. Try Wally's ! There are some suits out now, but I did not look the other day to see if the Catalinas are here yet. I heartily recommend them! Good luck!

I've been wholeheartedly avoiding this thread..I've never spent one comfortable moment
in my life in a swimsuit! No ONE! But the Speedos and jammers and the suit YOU use Jas
are so cute and functional looking! Wow... I'm inspired! Thanks for the liberating
look at what swim wear in the 21st century can be like! cool0012.gif

Mickeefynn I love the suits I have. I hated bathing suits because I always felt so EXPOSED! The ones with the skirts were totally hideous to me. I don't wear a regular dress much less one to swim in. I like mine because the bottoms come down about mid thigh and everything is covered up top except my arms. They were a dream come true for me and they don't even ride up when you put your wetsuit on.

Just picture this....You get several compliments on your suit from women who feel just like you do and want to know where you got it. Even at my current weight being MO again I still get thsoe compliments even from the thin ladies. Plus you get the added benefit of not sunburning highly sensitive parts of your body.
