Ok, I know I might be a bit impatient but yesterday was my 3 week checkup and I lost 18 lbs. Does this seem a little low to anyone else? I guess I thought that after being on liquids and the dreaded pureed foods for so long the weight loss would have been more....

I am doing everything by the book and exercising also. Dr. said I am right on target but after seeing some of the weight loss you all have had I feel like I am failing.

Malady, congrats on the 18 lbs!!! That is a great start. You are eating correctly, exercising, and taking your vitamins...you are doing wonderfully!
I lost a huge amount in the first month out of surgery...but I was also MO @ almost 500lbs...and it was alot easier to drop more weight the heavier you are to begin with I believe. I don't think you have anything to worry about...your body will take it at its own pace...you just keep on with the eating correctly and exercising, and enjoy being on the losing side!

That is 6 lbs. per week! That is awesome! Doin' the happy dance for you...
Relax a little. Girl, you are a worrier! Your body is undergoing a lot of changes and it will do it at it's own pace. Keep up all the good things you are doing. You will have weeks that you barely see a change in the scale. That doesn't mean you aren't going to have other weeks that the loss is huge. You may have a plateau for awhile. Just follow the plan & use your tool wisely. You will reach your goal!

Deep breaths sweets! You are doing fine. Just keep following your rules, protein, water, vitamins, and exercise (walking every day!) and the scale will take care of itself. It really does work that easily!
YOu are doing this sweets! Remind yourself of that every morning and keep on keeping on!

malady, I have to agree that six pounds per week is a great result! What diet have you ever been on in your life that gave you results like that? There are many people here who lose one or two pounds a week and feel great about it. We are all different and lose at a different rate. Be sure to pat yourself on the back and think of the succes you have had already!

Malady,
I'm 2 1/2 weeks out from surgery and I've lost 20 pounds. Thats without exercising as the Dr. doesn't want me doing anything yet as I am having problems with my incision. I ran into the gal that had surgery the same day I did and she's lost 22 pounds so i'd say you are right on track with us. Everybody loses at a different rate and I was feeling like you until I talked to some other people.
