Hi All,

As a newbie here, doing as much reading as possible, I have seen many people discuss their sublingual B12 supplements
but I haven't found any references to injectable B12 which I take once a month per my surgeon's instructions. I had RNY
7 years ago and was told at that time that sublingual B12 will not be adequate for someone following this type of surgery.

If anyone has any info on this or is 7 years plus, out from their surgery and still does the injectable form, I would like to
hear.

Thank you.

Hi Barb,

I did the injectable off and on for more than 10 years. A few years ago, when my labs were done, they said my b12 was ok. Now I'm doing the sublingual B12. I started the sublingual B12 at the beginning of this month. I will be having lab work done soon and I want them to check cholesterol, iron, etc. I'll let you know if the sublinquals are doing the job.

I had my RnY done in the fall of 2000. I still give myself B12 shots monthly. I just had a check up about 4 months ago and they re-prescribed my shots. They seem to have conflicting things to say about the additional calcium to take though.

Hey barb,
I'm 5 plus years out and been doing the sub-lingual B12. Just had labs done
and my B12 level was great. I have struggled a lot with iron issues in the past,
but since coming here and making sure I take my iron in the afternoon with
a vitamin C tab.. my hematocrit (sp?) read normal for the first time in about 3 years!
