Hello,
I am new to the site. I found it after researching the 5DPT. I heard about it on a blog about gaining weight after WLS. I had lost 130lbs since my surgery but have recently regained 30lbs. I am starting the 5DPT in the morning. I just finished fixing the ham and cheese soup from the recipe file. I went out and bought some sf jello and some flavored water so I will have no excuses. I also borrowed an old treadmill from a friend. Currently I'm not exercising at all. I know I really need to get a grip on my eating before it's too late. I have allowed myself to become continual grazer. I am going to try the plan and hopefully I will make it thru. I have very little will power and need all the support I can get.
Thanks to all of you for being here and giving me hope that I will be able to achieve my weight loss goals. love0003.gif

Hi Lola,
You already sound like you're ready to fail at this...or am I just reading the tone wrong? That's always a possibility!

Don't "hope" that your weight loss goals will come to be...go into tomorrow KNOWING that you can do this. KNOW that it can get done. My goodness, you must believe in yourself first! Then we'll have something to support and cheer!!! party0002.gif I really want to cheer you on in this...so get your "Get 'er Done" boots on and start marching to the beat of your drum! Hey, that would make for great exercise... sport-smiley-001.gif

Chin up and forge ahead my dear! love0003.gif

Hi Lola and Welcome, we're glad to have you on board. Good luck with the pouch test. It's been a miracle for so many here. It's very inspiring to me to hear that you've gone out and made the purchases, and even borrowed a treadmill!!! That's awesome! Now I've not done the pouch test, but I'm queen of the treadmill. I'm rooting for you to wear that baby out in the next 6 months. Ok? Slow and steady wins the race.

welcome, welcome.

Lola,

sign0016.gif Lola! It looks to me as if you have made all the correct preparations...you are more "in control" than you think you're and probably more determined from the sounds of things...I mean goodness, you borrowed a treadmill AND you have already made soup, & got h2o...you have all the ingredients for a successful 5dpt...you can do it!

party0002.gif Now just do it...like most of us who have had wls, you did what was necessary to have the surgery in the first place now fight to be healthy!....(ooooo, I'm sounding like the "Sarge" now...don't know where that came from.) party0002.gif Cheering and wishing you only the best!!!!

Blessings & love!!!

Hi Lola

You're in the right place. And I'm starting the 5 day PT today too. So you have company. Just remember back to the days when you were losing weight, eating right and exercise and remember how good you felt about yourself. Don't you want to feel that way again? Let's get back to that natural high together.

Like Kim (Sarge), from my first reading of your post, I thought you are expecting defeat. Don't just hope the 5DPT will work...PLAN that it WILL WORK! You can do this! We will cheer you on.

Hi Lola! sign0016.gif Three weeks ago, I could have written your post! I was SO out of control with no "willpower." BUT...I found this site and did just what you are doing. So...you're on the right track. Just hop on board with the 5dpt and each day you'll find yourself with more and more willpower. By the end of 5 days, the carb monster will be gone, you'll feel your pouch and you will have renewed optimism!

You may doubt yourself, but I don't doubt you - you've already made the hardest steps!!! let us know how you're doing! cool0012.gif

Hi Lola and welcome to the neighborhood! I too feel that you are a bit anxious about all that is involved in the 5DPT. Just look at it this way, are you worth the effort just five days will take to follow the rules again? When you do, you will be amazed at the control you have gained back and you didn't have to have surgery and recovery to do it. I think it is like reawakening your pouch. Your tool will be a well oiled machine again and you will be on your way! So, you decide, are you worth it? We all think you are!

Well,
it is 5:00pm and I made it thru the work day with all liquids. Now I am going home to walk while I watch the news. After reading all the posts of support today I feel really good, You are right. I can do this. I must do this. I will check back in before bed tonight. Just having somewhere to go for the support means so much. Thanks to all of you who have been so nice.
