I have never been a milk drinker, I remember after my surgery trying to drink the protien shakes and not being able to get them down. I see that most people here rely on them both during the 5DPT and beyond to get in the protien, Any suggestions??
There are several I would suggest....for a fruity (more like Crystal light) that you can just mix with bottled water there's Protein2Go paks by Designer Whey...(for more info go to www.designerwhey.com) my fav flavor is the Orange/Mango 10g protein per pak. VERY convenient and YUMMERS!!!! There are other flavors but this was my fav. Also, there's another brand I have found that I really enjoy called Jay Robb's "strawberry something or other" (Mix with plain yogurt and/milk and it tastes like a yummers dessert!!!)...I also like the one from Wally World Body Fortress and I like the Choc and the Vanilla. Sometimes I like to mix the vanilla with peanut butter and milk...tastes like a pb milkshake. And then there's Natural unflavored Whey Protein, the 1 I like is by Designer Whey (it can be mixed into just about anything from puddings to soups).and how much protien should I strive for ??? Lola
Most wls people try and get somewhere between 80-100g protein daily...most shakes are 20-25g protein...if you like protein bars and haven't tried any lately you may want to try the Pure Protein PB Deluxe or Chocolate/PB (tastes the same to me but I think they have changed the name).
