Day 1 (second time around) checking in. Not to bad so far, tempted by a M&M cookie cool-smiley-013.gif at work but stood stong and walked away cool0012.gif . So far today 16 oz of water and:

8:30am 12 oz diet pepsi
10:00am 1 cup pumpkin and sausage soup
1230 1 cup ham and cheese soup

I will check back in later, thanks for the thread, I'll use it to help hold myself accountable.

OK, just finished my soup for lunch and craving something sweet, I'm gonna have some SF Jello and see if that will do the trick. Work this afternoon is very monotonous so I'm easily distracted. Must keep my eye on the prize!!!

1:00pm 3.5oz SF jello and 8 oz water followed by quick walk around the building with SF gum.
2:00pm 8 oz SF hot chocolate.

I'm not hungry, I'm just bored out of my witts. Working hard to resist mindless snacking. 2 more hours to get thru and then attend a funeral/viewing for a dear family friend. Supper will be more soup. Maybe some SF pudding as well after 30 minutes on the treadmill.

Well, I made it through the workday with out falling off the wagon. Woo hoo Now on to the next challenge.

Go Lola go! You're doing great. I know what you mean about the boredom. It's hard to believe until you make eating so simple just how much time we spend thinking about, preparing, and consuming food, isn't it??? Hours and hours a day dealing with this issue. When you go on the 5dpt it must give you so much time to fill in. I hope you find something fun to do that you love.

7:00 home from work and fixing supper for the husband and son, trying out a recipe from day 5 on them, italian chicken breast, soup for me. 16oz water flavored with rasberry crystol light.
7:15 1 cup sausage and pumpkin soup
7:45 1 cup SF pudding + 16oz water
8:15 16oz rasberry flavored water + 15 minutes walking on the treadmill.

Meeting all day tomorrow, breakfast and lunch provided. I plan on scrambled eggs before I leave the house then just drinking fluids provided for breakfast. I will take string cheese with me so if there is no soft protien available for lunch I can have that. Plan the work and work the plan. I wil try and get in 16oz more h2o befor bed. wub.gif Tomorrow is a new day. It will be better. I will be more in control of my emotions and therefore my eating. Lola
Sandi
Poor kiddo! Sorry that you're going through such trials while you're trying to do the test! Hang in there. Keep your food really simple and really bland right now so that the emotions don't mask what you're feeling as you eat.

I'm keeping you in my heart and prayers right now!
Kaye
Hi Lola -

I think you are doing great considering the emotional pressure you have right now. Do the best you can and staying accountable to yourself and us is a good thing.

Remember to follow the liquid restrictions as you move to soft protein. That means no beverages 30 minutes before/after you eat or while you are eating. It will help you feel full longer.

Hugs to you!
Celadon
I have followed your progress but have not commented. What I want to say now is that you are going to be fine. You are determined to track what you eat each day and try to work through the emotional and physical problems. Hang in there and know we are all cheering you on!

6:30am scrambled egg, cooked in micro on my way out the door for the meeting.
7:00am 12oz diet pepsi
8:30am small serving of melon from the meeting buffet.
9:00am 16oz water
9:30am 8oz water
10:00am 8oz water
10:30am 1 pc lowfat mozz string cheese

12:30 lunch buffet....the lord was looking out for me...
1/2c seafood salad, 1/2c refried beans, 1/4c diced tomatoes
at the beginning of the meal I caught myself sipping my drink. I took off my watch and set it by my glass as a reminder to wait.
1:00pm 12oz diet pepsi
4:30pm my ride stopped at Arby's on the way home, I ordered a unsweetened tea. 16oz and that's it.
When I got home at 5:30 I went to the barn to help with a horse, an hour passed with no thought of food with the exception of how late it would be by the time my husband got supper.
7:30 Tuna pattie & hard boiled egg. followed by 20 minutes on the treadmill
8:30 16oz raasberry flavored water.

This has been a very empowering day!!! nature-smiley-008.gif I neede that. Day 4 is next, one step at a time.

You're doing so well at getting your protein in! NOW: maybe time to think about switching your diet cola drink to something without the carbonation and bubbles? Maybe some diet ice tea or crystal lite? The bubbles are going to inflate your pouch and keep it stretched out so that you'll feel hungry more often.

Just a thought, and if you're not ready, no problems....just maybe something to consider for the future.

I'm so impressed that you made it through the 5dpt with all you've been going through and everything! Congratulations! only 35 pounds to go!!! Wooooo HOOO

2:00pm feeling kind of queasy and a little shakey, I'm going to have a medium apple with some SF caramel dip and see if that helps.
2:45pm feeling some better, 16oz SF iced tea
The day is dragging on work is again boring and monotonous. Fighting the carb monster cool-smiley-013.gif and trying to stay away from the scales. I don't want to wiegh myself until the first of next week. Normally I weigh everymorning, I want to break that habit, it's depressing when I don't lose. Then I have started my day on a sour note, I want to start a new habit of a healthy breakfast with protien as the main course. I usually have oatmeal and brown sugar every morning. This weekend I am going to try some protien shake recipes and see if I can find some I like. After my surgery I couldn't tolerate them (I never drink milk) I'm also going to look for some protien bars that might fit the bill for breakfast. I'm not big on chocolate so it may be a challenge....We'll see. I might have to go to the big city and find a healthfood store. nature-smiley-001.gif
I'm thinking of keeping a food journal, I think this past five days posting everything I've eaten, how much, and why at times, has helped me to identify some bad habits and demons I need to work on. I'llcheck back in later. Lola action-smiley-065.gif

Goodmorning in the hood, action-smiley-066.gif Day 6...I have decided to eat sensible this weekend and start the pouch test again on Monday, I am still fighting the carb monster cool-smiley-013.gif , and still finding myself grazing...allbeit with better food, but still grazing. This morning I had 1/2 a Koshi Go Lean Protien and Fiber bar @8:30, 8oz diet soda @9:00 and then walked 15 minutes on the treadmill. Now I'm drinking 16oz water. I am going to try some Protien shake recipes today and see if I can find a couple I like.

Also this morning I am introducing my sister to the hood...Her name is Michelle, her surgery date was Sept 19, 07. She has lost 70lbs so far. She is looking great and feeling much better about herself. nature-smiley-011.gif Watch for posts from her and welcome her. PS she can get lost in cyberspace pretty easily so who knows where she will pop up. tongue0011.gif

Good morning, day 7. nature-smiley-008.gif I am feeling pretty good about yesterday, I had 1/2 a protien bar for breakfast and then we went running with some friends. Just wanted to get out of the house and get the stink blown off of ourselves. Can't wait till warm weather. We went shopping and I resisted buying junk food. I snacked on string cheese and protien bars throughout the day. At supper we stopped at Steak and shake. I ordered SF Ice tea and a grilled chiken melt without the frsco sauce and no bun. I ate half of my chicken breast/swiss cheese/bacon on a plate and a small serving of cottage cheese. Everyone else at the table had shakes and fries/onion rings etc....I ate 1 onion ring and didn't even want a sip of their shakes. I got a to go cup for my iced tea, so I felt reaaly good about my choices. I'm gaining on the control of my eating habits.
