Hi there! I need to submit a "before" picture for my WLS marketing campaign and am torn as to which one to use. I can't use the one that I have in my Avatar because the resolution isn't good enough. So, I'm asking for your opinion! I found these in a plastic shoe box in the garage next to the fertilizer...what does THAT tell you??? I did a quick scan of them...so the colors will be adjusted and such. I just want to know which you think I should send in...to show the most drastic transformation.

I picked #5...I think it shows the most dramatic transformation. Kim...wow. I am now even more in awe of all you have accomplished, and give me hope of getting these last pesky pounds off. Same beautiful happy smile in all the pictures though!

I agree w/ Marianna, except that I think the color in #4 would look better. No matter which you choose, you really are an inspiration for all of us to keep working the plan and get healthy.

BeJean...Hewlitt Packard has my hard drive for 'repairs'. Once it gets back, I have to reload all my pictures <they all got wiped out from the virus>, and then I will load it. Right now, I am using my better half's laptop...and adding anything to this piece of machinery that has every bell and whistle is a 'no no'!

Kim, #5 is awesome. It shows that you like so many of us have accomplished alot in our lives before WLS but what a difference WLS makes in us all. You were beautiful then and you are beautiful now. Obviously, same for the dogs!

Kim, any of the pictures would be okay but my personal choice is #6. Not because the puppies are beautiful but because it really shows the most dramatic change. It is a total body shot so it shows everything, the arms, belly, legs, etc. and leaves nothing to the imagination.

What a beautiful woman you were and now you are even more so. I am so happy for you that you are going to do this.

Well thanks for all of your comments and input! I didn't want to send the marketing rep all of the pics, so instead, I'll narrow it down to two based on your choices. Picture #5 might have some copywrite issues, because it was taken professionally. I love the puppy in the background on #3...that made me laugh, as I had never noticed her before. I saw that photo and thought, "who let me get so big and what made me think that stripes were a good choice???"

I like number 1. It shows the difference in the size, but it also allows you a bit of privacy. You can't see your face full on, so you can be semi-anonymous. There's too many nuts out there (which I'm always worried about because advertising my mug is a big part of my business).

KIm, Those pictures are incredible! What you have achieved is truly awesome and I agree with the others that you were beautiful then and now you are more beautiful and healthy!

I voted for 5 but should have read the other comments first!

You are a true success story! I love #2 it makes me feel good, I am a true animal lover and recently lost our cat (1/2 dog) family member and miss the connection of an animal in our home and this picture gives me that ahhh feeling, I wish I could join in that hug!

I'd send them all and let their art department decide which would look best on the bus...I like certain ones but can't imagine them being big enough to go on a bus! And about the copyright thing: if you paid for the photo, isn't it your property?

Wowzers Kim. KNowing you now makes it really hard to believe that you were once that big. It truly is an amazing transformation! I'm so proud of you!
As for the pics.....I can't decide. I like them all and they al illustrate the remarkable transformation you have achieved. I kinda agree about the anonimity of #1 but if there will be an after pic along with it then thats a moot point. I can't remember the # but I think the one of you in the chair with the Christmas tree behind you and the pups playing in fromt of you showcases the whole Kim head to slippered toes!

I chose #6...but totally agree that no matter which you choose it will be great! I kinda like Sandi's idea...let them choose...

I vote for 5 or 7 for the most dramatic change, more for total body exposure for more drastic change. However, honestly ANY of them make the statement appropriately with huge exclamation points!

Thanks for all of the kind words and thanks for your input. Based on the poll results, I'm going to send in pictures #5 and #6...and will let the good folks at Valley Care make the final choice. The "after" picture that they are using was taken of me at one of the post-op reunion parties. I haven't a clue what it looks like! Eek!

So I sent them pic 5 & 6...wouldn't you know, they want something else! What they really want to use is my picture that I have in my avatar here. However, the original is too tiny for them to do anything with. They want a frontal view with me looking in the camera. The dog show picture can't be used for copywrite issues...what I was expecting. So, I'm going to send the USA shirt and the one of me and Rosie at Christmas. I should have just listened to those of you that said to send them all in! Darn it!

Oh gosh...I asked to see the picture that they'd be using as my "after" and they sent it to me today. It was taken at a reunion party in 2005...after working all day...and I hate it!!! Was I wearing a hat all day? What was going on with my hair? Yikes. The only bright side is that my anonymity will still be intact...as I don't think that anyone would recognize this pic as being me. Once they tell me which "before" pic they go with, I'll post it.

Aw, thanks Jules. I don't like it much because I really don't think that it looks like me. I was still going through that "get settled into your new weight" phase. My face was super thin...the fat hadn't found its way back north! I sure do hope that when my little goal ticker hits the mark that my face stays the same as how it is now. I'm crossing my fingers and toes that the fat just leaves my rear and waistline! I like having a fuller face, but I'll just have to accept it for however it comes to be.

Did you find that your face went through phases? After hitting goal and then settling after a couple of years?

Yes, my face has went through many phases and when I was a bit lighter, I hated it, I thought I looked OLD!!!! But I guess I'd rather look old than obese! After my PS I went down to 151 for about 15 minutes (!) and I hated the way my face looked.

I think we are all way too critical of ourselves, I love that picture of you!

Catsroomie - Carrie Bradshaw is one of the main characters and is a writer, her picture is on the side of a bus! Just like Kim's will be!!!

Kim, why not ask if they have someone who is really good and can doctor the pic to fix the hair a little? I don't think it's that awful, but if you do, then it can't hurt to ask.

You guys are all so sweet...thanks for lovin' me inside and out. As far as "doctoring" goes, I think that they are more focused on the change in size, rather than what my hair is doing. Heck, they're probably just thrilled that I still have some on my head. Their marketing department will do their stuff...I can't imagine that they'll leave that door in the background. The pixels are like a gazillion...when I looked at the picture in full size, I could count the freckles on my face. I pay good money for product to bleach those buggers!!!
