Hi,
I was looking over the recipes for days 1&2 of the 5DPT and noticed that sausage is included in the recipe. It's o.k. to have meat in the liquid phase? I'm confused about all this. Please help.
Thank you.

Hi!
I made the pumpkin/sausage soup and it is delicious! I pureed all my soup before I ate them, so they were "liquid".
Don't be afraid to ask questions and WELCOME!!

That is the soup I was looking at, it sounds so YUMMY! I have some turkey sausage, I think I might use for that. I don't typically keep things like heavy cream in the house, so will have to run to the store.
Thanks for the welcome.

This question has come up before and Kaye explained it beautifully. I think the thread must be in the 5DPT questions part of the forum. When I made this soup so I could post a picture of it in the Recipe of the Week Newsletter, I just used my stick blender and it left tiny little bits of sausage in the soup which Kaye said was ok. My entire family just loved it until I told them the name of it! But, they had already eaten it and decided that pumpkin and sausage DO work together!

I used my stick blender too and it worked perfectly.
Celadon - my husband thought it was so good too, til I told him what was in it! Too funny!!!

Sometimes it's best not to think about it and to just do it (kind of like parachuting!)
I didn't blend mine and it was fine. Yes, it's chunky, but that's o.k. It still worked.

Maybe I am confused about the purpose..I thought it was all liquid, sort of like when we first get out of surgery and we are giving our tummy's a break, then slowly add the bulk foods....could someone more clearly define why the first 2 days are liquid...yet, not really.
I know I should just "do it" and I am but I want to know all the why's, when's and how muches.

I think its to add MORE PROTEIN to the diet and its' not like EATING CARBS!! Because it is designed to CURB THE CARB MONSTER!! So any protein will do....eat it how every you like...blended or straight!
I prefer mine ON THE ROCKS!

At least you didn't make the mistake I made and make it with TURNIPS!!! Aye yi yi! Sometimes I am so goofy I astonish myself! I used butternut squash, green beans and onions and about 1/2 C turnip to 2 qts of soup. I cooked it to mush and used turkey sausage. My husband went ape for it. I liked it. I will save it for once a month. I've decided to do the soup thing every month after "moon time" now... I felt very special and debloated after two days of shakes and soup. I really liked it. But no more turnips! Which is a drag 'cuz I love 'em.
