I started week 3. I had been doing great. My pouch feels tiny, I haven't cheated at all. I promise! I'm on Day 2 and I'm up 4 lbs.! What the...? Anyone else experience this?
Kim
Salt? Just a normal fluctuation? Big workout last night? I've got no idea...but if you are eating healthy, then you should ignore the scale. YOU know if you've got it right. That's all that's important.

Remember: it is just a spring in a pretty box...Don't let it get to you. If you keep doing what you're doing, it will work. Guaranteed! Don't get discouraged. There are dozens of logical reasons why the number fluctuates so much. My bet: you stood on the pretty box slightly differently today!

Forget the scale. Are you aware that a woman's weight can fluctuate as much as 5 pounds in one day? If you must look at it, keep that in mind and just work the program as written. You will show results. Take a deep breath and promise yourself that the scale won't determine what you do today!

I agree! Forget that dang scale - my weight fluxed fluxed fluxed then zing, I would drop.

Everyone is different (that's my mantra)

You are doing an excellent job -
Stick with the basics :-)

Hugs!

You will succeed!

Ugh! I know better than to bow to the scale gods. I've been at this weight for a good two years now. I think my body just doesn't want to part with it. Do you think it's because my calorie count is so low? I bet once I start eating soft protein, I'll drop again.

Here's a funny: My son asked me this morning if I was sick. He looked really worried. I told him, "No. Why are you asking?" After much coaxing, he informed me that my breath was so bad, he thought I was sick.

HONEY! If you've done this 3 times then you KNOW the goal of the 5dpt is not to lose weight but to help us get/stay in control. Stop stepping on the scale but for once a week. Weigh when you're done silly girl - and then don't expect a loss (because the goal IS NOT to lose weight - the goal is to banish the carb monster). Weight loss is just a nice side effect.

Are you eating the soups or doing protein drinks? If you're doing the soups - it may be the carbs from the soups that are causing a little "carb bloat." Carbs are notorious for soaking up water.

On a side note, can I ask why you keep doing the 5dpt - if you haven't cheated, then you should be in control and the carb monster gone. You can just stick with day "6" and will continue to lose weight without torturing yourself. The 5dpt is not a diet plan an shouldn't be done as a diet. You'd be better off sticking with day 6.

Tori,
I think Kaye should make up a title for you, like 5DPT Sargent at Arms. You have this thing down & you aren't afraid to be the 5DPT Sarge. I have a hard time understanding what is going on w/ so many of the neighbors who are so concerned w/ weight loss while doing the test. I am not doing the thing, and haven't even read the rules, but I understand that it is not about weight loss!

Hi there!

My guess would be sodium too and are you drinking all your water?? 64 ounces? Hmmm....

I dont know..this is day 2 for me and I feel like i'm floating! LOTS OF FLUIDS and I drink alot of water regularly! Maybe check the calories as well.

Have you tried the pumpkin Sausage soup? It's devine and I HATE PUMPKIN PIE..but the soup despite the name which seems to turn people off...it is WAY DELISH!!

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK..if you need to...and if this is your 3rd try...well maybe you need to SWITCH SOMETHING UP!!!

GOOD LUCK and keep us posted!!

Good girl! cool0012.gif You might be surprised to find yourself losing more quickly following Day 6 anyway. It's amazing how few calories and carbs you take in when you're limiting yourself to protein and complex carbs.

Now say after me..."I will only weigh myself once a week" (o.k., o.k., easier said than done, but it's a good goal! LOL!)
