Hi everybody action-smiley-065.gif

My name is Marilise, and I wanted to say hi!

What a great website! I had my Lap RNY in august of 2003, and went from 315 to 190. I've been struggling the last 2 years or so with a 20 pound regain. I've gone through every emotion concerning this topic, but more than anything, sadness, panic and fear. I've made such progress in the last 5 years after a lifetime of morbid obesity and want to move ever FORWARD.

I have just lost focus with eating. I don't know how long it's been since I've even had a protein supplement. I did a lot of thinking this week and realized that I just have to accept that my body is now different from that of most, and I have to eat a certain way for this surgery to work properly. Ways of eating that might work for people with normal digestive systems just don't work for me. I found this site last night and started the 5day Test today with a determination to see it through properly. It was strange to drink a protein shake today... so filling I couldn't finish it in a sitting. Strange, but also good and inspiring. I was so disciplined for a very long time after surgery and I know I can be that way again.

Nice to meet everyone, and I look forward to posting on the different topic boards!

Hi Marilise and Welcome!!! sign0016.gif

You'll find lots of information and support here. The support really helps to keep us on track. I just did the 5dpt a couple of weeks ago and I hadn't had a protein shake in about 3 years and I forgot how much I enjoy them! And yes, they are filling! I have started having one each afternoon and it helps not to snack between lunch and dinner.

Good luck to you!!!

I'm looking forward to getting to know you.

globaldiva,

Hello and welcome to our neighborhood!
I'm glad you have started the 5DPT. That would have been my first suggestion!
Stick with it, follow it as written, and you will get great results.
Keep posting about your 5DPT experience.
