I won a raffle at a bike shop on Saturday and in the bag of goodies were three tubes of a product called NUUN. They are in a container exactly like Airborne, look like Airborne and are used in water like Airborne. I received three flavors; Kona Kola, Tri Berry and Lemon+Lime.

Here is the breakdown: the directions say to put 1 tab in 16ozs water but the breakdown is for 1/2 tab in 8ozs. calories 3, sodium 180mg, potasium50mg, total carbs <1g, sugar 0g, vit.C 18.75mg, riboflavin 250mcg, calcium6.25mg, magnesium 12.5mg, caffeine 20mg.

I tried the Kona Kola and was surprised at how much it really taste like cola without being overly sweet. This product can be used not only as an electrolyte/hydration product or if you wish to satisfy a cola craving with 0 calories and no artificial sweetners. Its not cheap but it is good. This is fluid and electrolyte repalcement and not fuel/energy replacement.

I am going to give you the web address for the product so you can research it yourselves. It is http://www.nuun.com/.

So Damon... you're saying that this is a drink to use after strenuous activity?
Not as an anytime kind of beverage?
Thanks,

Thanks for the information. Sounds like a good option for endurance events. I'm going to look into it also.

Got anything coming up that you're doing?

Mickee,

This is something you can drink anytime you wish. Their website has a lot of information on the science and use of the product. I would think that since we have an absorbtion problem that the electrolytes would be benificial.

Stephanie I am training for my first double century that is the first weekend of April hope the weekend rains start going away as they heve really been limiting time in the saddle.

Remember this product will not supply energy but will help with hydration and electrolyte replacement.
