I have read quite a bit about this and new to your site. I am starting the test monday. I am not crazy about the recipes for the soups. I guess there is no can soups i can have huh?

I guess from what i can have is protein drinks, is there a limit? Water. clear broths?

what else? any suggestions.

thank you
denise

Hi Denise,

I just did the 5dpt a few weeks ago, you'll be surprised how well it works.

The soups....I made some minestrone and the pumpkin sausage soup and pureed them both and they "worked" just fine. The pumpkin/sausage soup sounded AWFUL to me, but it was absolutely delicious! Just FYI. So...you can have broth of course, boring though. I would think you could have canned soups, maybe just get the low fat/low sodium kind? But I'm not really sure. You could also just have protein drinks for your meals, but that might get boring too. The liquid phase is only 2 days and I found them to be the easiest of the 5. Just remember to get a lot of water in and exercise if you can.

I'm sure someone else will have some advice about this too.

Good luck to you!!

action-smiley-065.gif Hi Denise.

Everyone here is really nice and supportive. I did the test last week & loved it. The 1st 2 days were the easiest--no thinking involed! I made the pumkin sausage soup w/soy sausage (delicious) and the black bean soup (not for me.) Had approx. 2 protein shakes a day & lots of water.
Good Luck!

Take care,
gjasek

Hi Denise action-smiley-065.gif It is great to see you here. This is only my second post. I was not ready to start this last week as I thought so today is day one for me. I am looking forward to seeing how things go. Merrill and I made the split pea soup. It was good and the family wanted it also. Oh well, so much for having some to freeze. More later...tickled to se eyou here.

Hugs,
Roberta

Hi Denise,
I am starting today (Feb 25th). I am hoping this works out for me. I just came back form a cruise and had WAYYYYYY too many high carb foods and need to clean out my system and get my pouch back in working order. I tried th pumpkin sausage soup before and it is really awesome. I am interested in seeing if there are any canned soups we can use too. Good Luck!
