After a most of the day food network marathon, I went to bed friday night dreaming of buffalo wings and blue cheese dressing. Saturday morning I went onlne and found a couple of recipes. I normally don't like blue cheese but had it home made a couple of times and loved it. Saturday afternoon I make up the dressing which is basically 1/2 cups mayo, sour cream and blue cheese with 1tbs white vinegar and a tsp garlic then blend it together. I grilled up a piece of chicken, added it to my lettuce and poured a bit of the dressing over it. It tasted really good but the after affects started immediately. We are talking burping and indigestion that lasted well into sunday. You know the kind...the one that even 4 rolaids won't touch. Last night I tried it again but with much less dressing. Same thing happend only less intense. Hmmm wonder if there is way to much garlic in there for me since I rarely eat it? I'll try it again but with about 1/2 tsp garlic and see what happens. I know for some folks the fat in this could cause them issues but I don't have any problems with fat.

Maybe this is nature's way of telling you that you do have an issue with fat after all?

It could be the vinegar too (acidic). If I remember correctly, my blue cheese dressing recipe was just SC, blue Cheese, mayo and a splash of milk to thin it out (with a little salt and pepper).
Sounds really yummy!

Or, you may just be one of those people that can't eat a specific item for no apparent reason. If something makes you sick, I would avoid it for a while and try it again in the future.

It might not be the fat, it be the chicken. Are you chewing it enough? Also, no matter how much I chew I have a problem eating chicken breasts. No matter how I cook them, it doesn't agree with me. I eat chicken thighs instead. Maybe give that a try.
Good luck!

I am pretty sure it was the garlic. The chicken was chewed well and I eat mayo almost daily with just about everything. For example last night I took a piece of the chicken and used a low carb tortilla to make a quesadilla with cheddar cheese. Served with a bit of sour cream. It was really yummy and I had no problems. I have always had problems with foods that had alot of garlic and onion in them. I'm going to toss the blue cheese dressing and remake it this weekends sans the garlic.
