action-smiley-065.gif sport-smiley-018.gif Cant beleive that the count down has begun, really begun. I am going to join my looser of a husband, and stop fighting the scales. I have surgery booked for 25 March, 26 days and cant wait. My husband had surgery 3 years ago and I have now come to the conclusion that I cant do another diet, oh they work so well, but the yo yo gain has taken its toll for the last time. For all the blogs, stories, life changes I have read, I know this isnt the easy way out as I felt it was for Murray, but infact a total change of life.

I am lucky that I dont have as far to go as most people I have watched and viewed profiles from, but for me the battle has to come to an end, and this is a better solution than all the alternatives.

Karen,

Hello and welcome to our neighborhood !
Time will go by quickly. Read as much as you can
before your surgery. Preparation is key.

Hello Karen and welcome to the neighborhood! I am glad that you found us and hope that you will take full advantage of all that this website has to offer. You are so fortunate to have someone so close to you that has had surgery. Your husband can help you through the bumps and questions and be there to support you. Best of luck in your preparation for surgery and I hope we see you here often.

Hi
I am not sure that I am hitting the right buttons, or writing in the write place, but I am really overcome with the response and support that I have had from my post.
I so want the next 24 days to speed by, I am sick of trying to find something to wear to work everyday, cant beleive how uncomfortable I feel, and how hard the most simple things to do have become.
I havent told anyone but ppl here, my husband and surgeon that I am doing this. I have applied for leave from work without an explanation. This is my journey for me, and I dont want to have any negative feedback.
I have had one surgeon go on about ppl with a body mass under 55 just needing to get of their ass and get control of themselves. Well, I would like to see him add 5 kg, it would be as hard for him as most ppl loosing 10kg.
I am truely thankful for the support and for ppl sharing their journey. I know this isnt an easy solution, but if it was easy then everyone would be doing it.
Again, thank you
Karen

Congratulations, Karen! It's nice you have your husband's experience to help you through, even though yours will be unique to you! And it's nice that you found us too. My husband needs this as much, or more, than I do; but I was the one with diabetes, so I went first. I hope I can be as supportive to him when he has the surgery as he has been for me. He's been a gem . . except when he sneaks out to grab a Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese!
