Jules...that would make for a great "hugfest"...you and me getting our BB's pierced! I don't think that it would hurt, as my BB is still numb from the TT! I also want to get a tattoo over my buttlift scar!

Firstly it didn't hurt Jules, well, not much anyway. I just gave a wee gasp as the needle went through and that was it.

Might get a new tattoo while I'm out of action too. I have 2 already and 1 of them I want some more work on but a new post WLS tattoo is well over due.

I'll post a photo of my piercing in the weekend. It's 7.30am Friday and I'd better get ready for work. Takes a bit longer with one arm put of action.

Jules I put off getting a tattoo for many years because I was worried about the pain too but it honestly didnt hurt at all. All I felt was a little scratching and sometimes a wee stinging sensation but I wouldn't call it painful. Mind you it does depend where you get it. My first was at the top of my breast so I had lots of padding. The second one is on my back so I was ok there too. I would love one on the inside of my foot but because of lack of flesh it will be more painful but I could get anasthetic cream applied first.

I don't now what to have done next. Anyone want to design a tattoo for me? My hubby reckons I should get "skinny B*tch" tattood somewhere hehe

Typing with one hand is pretty easy as I'm a trained typist so I know where all the letters are but it does get tiring if I do too much.

YES! I did get mine done almost 2 weeks ago....I had been talking about it for several years but didnt want to do it until I had a nice tummy..so a year later...we were hanging with friends in Ol' Sac a few weeks ago...one of my girlfriends ran to the tattoo parlour and said I'M GETTING MY NOSE PIERCED!! lol.. so off we all went and ALL the girls got something pierced
(2 noses, 1 belly button and 1 ear cartilage) Guys got nothing!

Mine is a pink jewel bar (they didnt have PURPLE) lol...but I LOVE IT! It's still healing but I will take pics this weekend...

You all are so good at celebrating being alive. You all inspire me with how passionate you are in your goals and new interests. Way to go team. Now I have no desire for piercings or tattoos. Hate to be such a party pooper, I'm just really thrilled to get clothes that fit me right. I like it when my jeans sit right, or I find a cute little top. This brings me pleasure.

I remember a time when I couldn't shop at nice lingerie shops because me size was too big. had to order everything online. NOW, well, I own those shops and it always surprises me when the clerks treat me as if I really belong there! This is my idea of simple pleasure!

It's time for me to start taking that SPIN CLASS AGAIN ( Marla). I only hope my back can TAKE IT!!

I would like to have one of my ears re-pierced as the current hole is a little out of place and causes me problems from time to time. No piercing of other parts for me, though - no belly button, eyebrow, tongue, or the like. Just not my thing.

However, one of these days I may get a small tattoo. I've been toying with the idea for a couple of years. Just waiting for the right inspiration to strike me.

I'm toying with the idea of getting a little purple butterfly when the weight is off, to symbolize my change from a fat little caterpillar to a lovely butterfly. People close to me are already telling me that I seem happy since I had WLS.

This is how tattoo's happen generally...you get that thought and then when the mood or inspiration hits you....YOU GO DO IT! My ONLY advice with that is that you be PREPARED as to what you really want on your body! I didnt do that exactly on my very first one and i've hated it since I got it! However, several years ago finally someone would touch it up (tat artists dont generally like to fix or mess with others ppls' work). I like it much better now but learned a hard lesson from that!

My BUTTERFLY tat is my most recent one...I got it last year! The BUTTERFLY is a very common tattoo amoungst WLS patients because it symbolized that coming into our own kinga thing...

December last year, my darling husband Pete and I got tattoos for his 40th birthday. We got them done at the same time so taht he wouldn't chicken out LOL!! Our two youngest came with us and took heaps of really great photos.

Pete's is on his upper right arm while mine is on my right breast. I have to admit is was strange having a man (who was not my husband) looking so closely at my breast for that long.

Anyway here are the photos...

Yes... the names in hubbie's tat are his three kids (my step kids). They are listed in order of birth - Lavinia, Alysha & Kurt.

Mine is called "Fire & Ice" and is a unique design that my tattooist and I came up with. I told him what I wanted and together we designed it. I'm thinking about getting a matching lower back tat later this year.

It represents the extremes of who I am... That I have a firey temper but am also very placid and forgiving; my journey (still in progress) from being big to being small, healthy and fit; that I am an accountant who likes ballroom dancing and motor racing; that I like music that ranges from heavy metal to classical and that I am a creative person.

They are even more special when they have a special meaning behind them.....I LOVE THAT!

I have a back tat also!! LOVE IT!! IF I can give advice on that....if you are even THINKING that you might need a lower body lift or butt lift after your wls journey...keep THAT in mind when you have it done and the placement of it!

I got mine a couple years ago (2005) and I had asked my surgeon about it...she said i'd lose it if I had a butt lift....but then I saw her last month....she said I WOULDNT LOSE IT! go figure...what she said is now that it looks like the low rise pants are here to stay..they are doing the incisions alot lower! WOOHOO! I didnt want to mess it up but I really need to have that BUTT LIFTED!! lol... Still working on taking 20 lbs off though!!

I would like to add that the tattoos are addicting to some I have 2 and really would love more but I keep waiting....one day ....... I have my kids names tattooed around my right ankle like a bracelet and I have a butterfly on my back sholder....The funny thing is that I did have my tongue pierced for along time many many years but when I became a grandma I took it out it closed fast for having it so long but I guess I felt that I changed so it was time to remove it..... this is a great thread makes you really think about what we could do or already did....hugs

Julie - I sold AVON for years. I wanted to do the walk years ago when it was 3 days, but I was afraid of the fundraising committment. It's been relatively painless so far - but I haven't started my training yet.....

I just MIGHT Barbara!! We lost my mother in law unexpectedly this past July at the young age of 58. She died of complications due to breast cancer.

It too close to home...and I want to do what I can to support the cause.

Kim aka: SARGE does the BRA'S FOR THE CAUSE walk here in northern california....everyone decorates their BRA! The walk is at night...Kim had HIGH BEAM LIGHTS ON HER'S! It was too cute! That is a fundraiser too....but I didnt make enough time to truly get into it! MAYBE THIS YEAR! I'll have to find out what month it is....

I've not regretted it. I sort of enjoyed the sensation of
the constant buzzing while they were doing it. Soothing.
Felt like a sunburn for a couple of weeks after.

Way to go!!!I too had my belly button pierced, and Kim it really doesn't hurt because my belly button is still numb from the tummy tuck too. Also, I did go and get a butt topper tattoo with a hummingbird drinking from a flower. It really didn't hurt either, actually it kind of tickled. I am very ticklish, so most anywhere would probably tickle. The ankle really hurts though Barb because the bone really sticks out there. I also had one done there when I was heavier, and I almost passed out. I suggest to all of you girls who want to take a ride on the wild side to go for it.. Do what you want and don't let anyone else tell you differently. Tootles. Amy
