Hi Guys!

Anyone up for starting the 5dpt on Monday, March 3?

I just had minor laporoscopic surgery and I've begun to slip in regards to food. Not too bad, but enough to bring back the carb mini-monster (not full blown YET). I don't know if it's the "comfort" factor or I'm just feeling lazy about fixing myself food, so I've slipped back into some carbs which I'd like to banish again. Example...hubby just offered me a slice of pizza for lunch and I accepted instead of getting off my behind and fixing something better. *sigh*

OK, who's up for it?!? I'm picking monday as a date because weekends...well...it's just easier when no one else is around. Plus that gives us time to prep. (for me, I need to make soups, etc.)

I'm in, the peanut butter easter eggs at work got me cool-smiley-013.gif . I need to strike while the iron is hot so to speak, I'm just starting to regain control and I don't want to blow it now.

Come on Monday! LOL! I'm feeling double whammy'd right now. I just had surgery so I know I'm a little "puffy" from a little bit of sweling. On top of that, tis that TOM so I'm puffy from that as well. I'm not going to weigh in officially until Monday, and I may not even admit if I've gained a couple of lbs (which the scale shows at the moment, but I'm not really too upset due to all the factors involved). The fact of the matter is that it doesn't really matter as long as I'm heading in the right direction again (which I will be on Monday) - so....

COME ON MONDAY!!

Between a bad case of the flu and an extra Leap Day bonus period (sorry TMI) --- I'm ready to get clean lean and mean! New month, new week, new me!!!!

Toris, Already bout some broth and simple ingredients to start on Monday. Been watching the scale slide up a bit and procrastinating for a couple weeks. Seems like when I decide to make good choices I become the family host for dinner. Also since my mom has been here from Idaho I have made some pretty bad choices and restaurant slip ups.......yummy Casa De Pico! So the carb junkie has me in his grasp and the guilt monkey has me feeling bloated so off I go. I have given warning to my husband and he told me soup was fine next week. Gotta love him!
So the answer is YES count me in.
Now for the question, why did my post show up three times here? And to boot it did it while I was still typing my response. Then I noticed it had posted three times incomplete?
Oh my goodness I am sorry, anyways I will check in with you Monday, thanks for starting this.

I have another question, why did my post pop up three times and I tried to erase it? I am sorry I don't know what happened when I was still typing this I was suddenly transfered back to the original screen and my response was different in three spots. I am sorry guys I don't know if maybe now the computer bug has me too.

yes im up for it. ive tried to before. but i cant seem to get pass the day 2. head hungers get to me. how many protein drinks can u have that day. ive been snacking for awhile now. really need to get back on track

There's no limit to how many protein drinks you can have. Personally, if I had to do the protein drinks, i'm pretty sure I wouldn't make it past noon on day 1! (I'd rather drink acid - thus the reason I do the soups).

If it helps, I find if I've set myself up on an "eating/drinking" schedule of every 2-3 hours, it helps me to deal with the head hunger. By the time I've eaten and start thinking about food again, the 2-3 hour mark is coming up and I can hold out. I don't have to have a FULL serving, it could be 1/2 cup of soup or a SF pudding, but it's enough to hold me over until my next meal. An example of my day 1:

8:00 - 1 cup sausage/pumpkin soup
10:00 - coffee w/SF creamer
12:00 - 1 cup lentil/barley soup
3:00 - SF pudding
5:00 - 1 cup split pea/ham soup
8:00 - SF pudding
**In between I'm trying to get in my 64 oz of water.

If you do this - there's NO TIME for head hunger! cool0012.gif

My Day 3,4 & 5 schedule is almost identical (just substitute 4 oz protein for the soups).

I'm SO EXCITED! I LOVE the feeling of control this gives me and I miss that right now! Woo Hoo! I know this is not good, but I can totally see how anorexics enjoy the control the control they get from their disease. I mean, I don't see myself taking it to that level, but there is a certain amount of comfort to having control over something in your life - while so much in our lives & the world we have no control over (i.e., other people and things that happen).

Hi, I just joined and would love to start on Monday March 3rd. I have been trying for 2 weeks and keep failing. Maybe doing it with others I will be able to stick with it. Good Luck to all of us.
