Hi all,
Well, I'm home - 4 days out. I have lots and lots of literature. One page tells me that I can shower as ofter as I want. My surgeon gave me a few tips for showing with the drain and the pack with the pain med - did you all have these? Anyway, another page tells me wear my binder 24 hours a day. You'd think that it would say "... except when you're showering", but it does not. I'm assuming you don't wear it in the shower. Bejean, I just read you advice about getting second one - good advice, wish I'd read it before it was too late.
So, back you my question -- do you wear the binder in the shower?
If this seems to be a ridiculously stupid question - forgive me, I'm still under the influence of anesthesia.

Congratulations! You've ARRIVED!!! Good for you!! I wish I could give you a clue about the binder, but, I haven't even the smallest of an idea how to answer, so I won't! Didn't get me no binder, had to make one up for myself 'cuz it hurt too much to not have one! (I did take mine off, but, then agin, it were MINE now, weren't it?? Can you tell I'm tired? I can!!)

Anyway... one step at a time... and someone will be along soon who actually has something HELPFUL to add!!

I can't see any purpose in keeping it on in the shower but if you do remove it, be careful and move SLOWLY. Put it back on immediately and don't walk around without it. For a week or so after surgery, you may be dizzy in the shower so moving slowly will be easier on you. The dizziness comes from too much hot water and steam so the cooler the water the better.
