Okay...was last week the longest week of your life, or what? Man, I was sure that it was Thursday on Tuesday...
The weekend is here and in CA, the weather is quite good. We're looking at the mid 60's and THAT makes me happy! The weather really plays with my emotions. When it's dark and gloomy out, my mind goes that direction and I have to spend quite a bit of energy pulling out. So when the sun is shining, so am I!
Plans for this weekend are all up in the air. What I know for sure is that I'm enjoying my Peet's Americano as I say hello to all of you this morning. After, I'll be meeting up with my mom for lunch and shopping...this girl is desperate for a new mascara. OH! I got a cut and color last night and my 'do is fab. Love, love, love having new color. My stylist is a doll...single mom and 37 years old. She invited me to go out with her and her friends tonight...DANCING!!! Yep, I'm going out to a dance club to get my groove on.
This place is in a nice area and it caters to the "older" crowd...meaning that it isn't teaming with 20-somethings. Music is from the 70's, 80's and 90's. Hope to burn off 1000 calories and meet some new people.
Sunday, I was supposed to be on a second date. Not sure what's going on there...if I don't hear from him today, then I'll make other plans! The sun is shining and I'll be out and about!
What's on your agenda for this first weekend in March???

Happy weekend to you too Kim! Like you, I am basking in the glow of a new 'do'. For me, color is a must! Wrinkles are bad enough but I just don't tolerate the gray hair showing! Have a great time dancing tonight!
For me, typical weekend. I am nursing hubby back to health as he is fighting an ear infection but on the mend. Jake is pulling a double at work. So, I will work on recipes, the cookbook, and the newsletter and will try to post some interesting stuff in the Community Kitchen if I get to it. I have to update the Fruit and Veggie of the month today since it IS March now!
Have a terrific weekend everyone!

Happy weekend everyone. This is the weekend I've been dreading. Tonight I have to attend a formal affair with my DH. I have not worn a formal in years and am not looking forward to it. I feel like a fish out of water. There will be approximately 900 people there and we are one of 20 couples that will be introduced and have to walk the red carpet as they call it. I have this tremendous fear of falling and making a total fool of myself.
I am sure it will turn out to be a lovely evening and everything will be fine. I just get so nervous about these things.
Have a great weekend everyone.

Good morning!
Nothing much going on for me this weekend. Maybe a drive to Pacifica to look at the ocean today and then breakfast with some good friends tomorrow morning.
Kim - Have a GREAT time dancing! How fun! I LOVE to dance, but sadly my hubby doesn't.
Terri - Don't worry about tonight. You will look beautiful and you will NOT trip!!! You'll be so excited to be all dressed up....and your DH will love it too I'm sure! Have fun!!!!
Smiles - I hope you get to yell BINGO!!
Celadon - I hope your husband feels better and I'm anxious to see the new cookbook too!
Have a fun weekend everyone, no matter what you're plans are!

I just drove up the spine of California. I've seen it all from snow to rain to brilliant sunshine. I loved the herds of goats frisking under the almond trees of the central valley, I loved the herds of wild Roosevelt Elk in the Redwood National Park. But most of all I loved seeing my soul mate and my cats when I pulled in the drive, waiting for me with arms of love and tender juicy roasted bits of meat. Ahhhhh home sweet home! Is there any sweeter phrase in the human lexicon of sweet phrases?
I'm unpacked, sipping my water, sitting by the fire and reflecting on how sweet life is. And how appropriate it is that for me, March roared in like a lion. I expect that spring will truly be here now.
sending you hugs across cyber space dear friends.

Wow...sounds like everyone in the hood is out and about in full force today! Be safe everyone...and live life to the fullest!
Ahhhhh...today was a nice day. Sat around with my friend and her 5 year olds...my two teenagers...and knitted and crocheted 5 hours away in a lazy fashion while Harry Potter movies played in the background and all the pets were laying in the sunny spots caused by our 30' weather today. <as for me crocheting right...well, apparently she is a 'righty' so the way she was watching me crochet was the opposite from what she does...so she thought it was wrong!>
Recieved numerous phone calls from my bh checking on me. Was great to realise that even when we arent next to one another physically...I am never far from her thoughts.
Now it is dinner time...and I decided it is 'catch as you can' night. As long as it is a healthy choice...they can have it, and I am sticking with my scrambled egg and salsa with tabasco! <I had one for breakfast, and a tropical leather fruit strip around lunch time since it was all I could tolerate the thought of>, but am sipping sipping and sipping protein water...and am averaging about 40-50g protein a day!!!!!Be safe everyone, and enjoy your evening!

Spent my Saturday with my 2 yr. old granddaughter.
We went to the local Farmers' Market in 38 degree, windy weather.
We are hard core! From there it was on to MeeMah's house of fun!
I have a less than organized home and DGD loves it! Always something
fun to discover! What a treat to watch her playing with our Great
Pyrenees. What a pair! After a bit of lunch we headed back to my daughter's house
for naps and books and puzzles and and and and .....
Tomorrow, my daughter's dad...
my X and dear friend is going to breakfast
with 50 other business people from around the area with Barack Obama!
All part of working Ohio. Would love to meet the man. His wife spoke in
our town on Thursday and was wise and beautiful and quick. cool stuff.
Sorry for skirting along political dealings there but it's too cool not to mention!

Barbara, was it the REAL LIVE Tom Jones? Wow! Geez oh pete: how old is that guy now? Can he still sing it?
I'm impressed! Way to rock on. Even with a bent wing, you still get out there an party. Iron Woman!
I just went for a long cold walk on the bluffs overlooking the Pacific. Long V-strands of Aleutian Geese flew overhead and I threw sticks for my big yellow dog. I watched the sun go down with my boyfriend holding my mittened hand. Life is so very good, isn't it?
Hope all is well with you my friends.

Well, I love it! And if good ol Tom would have known what a hottie he had down there flapping broken wings, HIS heart would have been a flutterin' too. Lady, you're not just a fitness diva, you're a LIFE goddess. I bow to your spirit! Carry on, I can't wait to hear what's next!

Hah! I sure needed you ladies this morning and now I've had my fix, between jeans that fit in NZ to Tom Jones concerts to Kim's night of dancing.
At 5 PM my hubby is 48 hours out from his surgery. All the news from the lab was good so now he can mend and come home in a few days to really start healing and getting back on his feet.
The weather here in San Diego is gorgeous, sunny, clear. Everything is green because of the recent rains. This is the reason we live here, yes? Yes!
The hospital is on the coast so the drive to spend time with Dave today will be a pleasure, too.
Now that he is minus a couple feet of colon, I'm anticipating our dietary needs will have some similarities...got to read up on that. Maybe my pre-op cooking practice will get some real time use.
Thank you all for being there and sharing your joys, you've made my day!

Well kids, I am back from my whirlwind trip to NY for the weekend. However today I am home sick. A bunch of people in my office had the flu last week. Hopefully, I am just feeling icky and don't have the flu.
Erin's bridal shower was a blast and she was surprised.

Barbara, that's great! I love Tom Jones. I actually had the chance to work backstage with him about 7 years ago. He is a REALLY, REALLY nice man. It was actually a pretty fun (albeit gross) nite - you would not believe the panties that get thrown on stage for that man (you'd think women would go out and buy nice cute TINY panties - NOPE! Used (clean), real granny ones! *shudder* The funny thing is they tie a coin into them so they actually make it to the stage when they are thrown. What won't some people think of? *eye roll* Does he still have those 3 lady singers in like 6 inch heels. I had a really fun time talking to them about their shoes before the show (I couldn't figure out how they do it - until I realized they kick them off the SECOND they are off the stage!)
Anyway, what a fun thing to do - he puts on a great show!
My weekend was mostly work - that's o.k. though. Work is better than no work!
