action-smiley-065.gif Hello Everyone!! My name is Cindy Reid and I had my open RNY surgery in Green Bay WI at Bellin Hosp on Feb. 9th, 2006. My surgeon Dr. Kemmerling is a great guy, did a great job. This past August I had a liver abcess, and spent a week in the hospital. The only reason for this given to me was that my WLS must have caused it! They feel that my liver was knicked somehow during surgery.

I have never reached goal, have another 100 lbs to loose. I am on day 2 of the 5 day pouch test. I am one of the lucky ones and I rarely feel hunger. But the carb monster made a home in my head and did not want to leave. It is still there, but I have not been really obsessed with cheating!!

I am hoping to get some much needed help!!

Good luck!

Just one day at a time...

Hi Cindy and WELCOME!!

We are glad your here and glad you've decided to give the pouch test a try! I did it a few weeks ago and SURVIVED! lol.. It did help me get MOTIVATED! How lucky for you that you dont have the hunger!! I am REALLY noticing a difference after eating carbs vs protien....but thats always been the case...we just get out of the norm for awhile!

But your HERE! YOUR BACK and YOUR GETTING BACK ON TRACK! I hope this will motivate you to continue on and lose that last bit of weight! I'm 4 years out...never got to goal (whatever that is..lol.)

But i'm happy to say....I still have what I lost off....my darn body just KEEPS CHANGING! lol..

Keep us posted on your progress and KUDO'S FOR YOU TO GOING FOR IT!! cool0012.gif

Congrats on taking the 1st step to regaining control. I have done the 5dpt 2x myself, and have lost 17#s. its a great way to kick the carb monster and figure out that your pouch does still work. Welcome. we are glad you found us.
