The Neighborhood Haiku-athon!
PRIZES: First Place - annual premier membership (1)
Second Place - three month membership (1)
Third Place - one month membership (1)
Note - If the Haiku of a Foundation Member is chosen as a winner, in lieu of the membership prize the Foundation Member will receive something from the Fun Friday Prize Trunk. And the membership prize will be re-awarded accordingly.
RULES: Contest starts today and ends 11:59 pm pacific time Monday March 10.

Up to 3 entries per Neighbor
HAIKU RULES: Haiku poems consist of 3 lines. The first and last lines of a Haiku have 5 syllables and the middle line has 7 syllables. The lines rarely rhyme.
Here is a Haiku example from Lynn's Hubby -
Mike's HaikuDon't ever tell me
This is not a Hai ku
Count the syllables
THEME: Express your undying love for the Neighborhood in a Haiku

Those who know my history will understand this. I had my WLS in 1986 and shortly afterwards got stuck at a very high weight. I eventually got control, came to love exercise and evolved to a healthy weight! But I still considered myself a WLS failure (even at a healthy BMI) -- until I came here. So.... here's my poem:
Knew that I had failed
You said I am a success!
Your Fitness Diva...
This place changed my life, that's for sure! Happy 2nd Anniversary -- and MANY more!!

I want to wish Kaye and the gang congratulations on the second anniversary of the hood. You have most certainly arrived and can anyone ever doubt this???
As to competing, I'm going to pass on the contest. I love haiku and think that this is brilliant. I just want to get my hugs out there and wish everyone happy anniversary.

I think the rest of the judging panel needs to submit a Haiku as well. I know Celadon and Mamma Kaye are UBER busy. However, c'mon and join in the fun. Where are the rest of the Neighbors. There are many faces missing from this thread. I know who you are...
