Hi everyone... action-smiley-066.gif

Here's today's food for thought.... something to chew on... love0028.gif

Why is it so easy to gain a pound after messing up 1 time and so hard to lose a pound after being faithful, eating right and exercising?

Isn't that the way of the world?

Here's the deal,

Since the 5dpt..I have been very very good, even dropping 10 pounds cool0012.gif
By good I mean:

I eat Breakfast (2 hard boiled eggs and a piece of meat, like turkey sausage, or turkey bacon)
I wait at least a half an hour to an hour and begin my water intake
Throughout the day I will consume at least 64 oz of water.
Lunch I have 6-8 ozs of meat and maybe like 1.5 oz cheese
Dinner consists of recipes found in the kitchen section of this site…very lean and controlled to 8 oz max.
I have committed to exercise every day...getting in at least 30 minutes a day. (Walking, bike riding, strenuous yard work, etc.)
oo and I take my multi-vitamins, calcium, and iron daily.

Sounds like I am doing all the "right" things huh?...so why is it I'm am not losing weight this week? The 10-pound weight lost was a combination of the 5dpt and actually stopping the huge amount of daily intake of carbs.

But I haven't lost anything since...can anyone shed some light as to why? Is 24 ounces of food daily too much? I have occasional hunger pains so I am not over eating..I stop when I feel full...I eat slowly..taking 10-15 minutes to eat..no drinking with my food.. wub.gif

I am destined to be a size 16-18 for life!!... sad-smiley-018.gif

grrr very frustrating....I know...I know...patience is a virtue...unfortunately, it's isn't one of my forte's.

Hi Smiles,

Remember that you just lost 10 lbs!! Give your body a chance to adjust to that. And to get used to your new habits of not eating a lot of carbs and exercising. It will come off if you keep doing all the right things.

It is so frustrating though, I know! And it is no fair that the gains comes on much easier and quicker than the losses!!!!

Since my 5dpt I have been eating so much healthier and walking every day, which I did NOT do before. And I've lost nothing basically. I go up 3 lbs, down 1 lb, up 1 lb, down 3 lbs....UGH I am frustrated too!!! But I know my body is better for the positive changes I've made in the last month, weight loss or not! But I want the scale to move downwards please!

Lets try and be patient together.

Well Miss Smiles! Isn't this the billion $$$ question!!!

Jules offers some good advice: patience! Our bodies are so well trained to store fat, store energy and they absolutely resist giving it up. But the good news, you are going down better than when you were on the carb cycle, right? And your energy level? Higher and more consistent, right? And your mental satisfaction of treating your body well nutritionally and physically? Well, that's got to be priceless.

Hang in there - Keep up the good work and remember patience pays off.

Jules is right! Give your body a chance to catch up. I too am one of those people that loses in spurts more than regularly. I find that my weight doesn't change but my clothes keep getting looser so I know that I am doing the right thing. Then, all of a sudden, 5 or 6 pounds are gone overnight! Best thing I can tell you is that you should take measurements. Take them every week if you have to. It is amazing how fast you 'shrink' even though you aren't losing actual pounds.
