Well, I had gastric bypass on 11/4/04. I started out at 339lbs. I lost about 125 lbs and kept that off for awhile. I have now gained 35lbs. Boy is that hard to see in writing... but If I don't face it dead on and bring it all out in the light, I will never overcome this. I feel so blessed to have found this site. I have been a member on obesityhelp but had not logged on in forever. Today I decided to log on.. and I found this website as well. Divine intervention in my opinion!! SO... I am planning on starting the 5 day plan on Monday. I am preparing my family( I have a WONDERFUL husband and 4 beautiful kids, ages 4, 8,9, 11) I also just bought an elipitcal machine and my husband put it together today. I was a huge exercise freak when I was losing so steadily, the last year was quite frankly one of the worst our family has had. My father in law passed away, our youngest son was diagnosed w/ a form of autism and we had a foster daughter that we were going to adopt and it didn't work out. I don't blame any of that for my weight gain, I just got stressed out and in stead of working out, I went to Starbucks. I am an admitted Starbucks addict. Seriously, I have 2 venti peppermint mochas a day...That has just made the scale climb. So.. all that being said, I am feel INSPIRED like I did in the very beginning of my WLS journey 4 or so years ago. I am anxious to read other people's stories and to be even more inspired. Thanks for listening! Melissa

Melissa,I'm so glad that you found us.
Welcome to the neighborhood!
It sounds like you have resolved to get back on track. Good for you. You go, girl!
Since you're a Starbucks hound, read all of the posts about protein supplements. I know there are some really good coffee flavored recipes in there.
Best wishes as you face your struggles & continue your journey.

Thank you sooo much. I am super excited. I know it's going to be hard, but success doesn't come easy. So I feel like I am ready. I also am a nursing student and so I want to be healthy and have a better frame of mind as I go thru the rest of my schooling! So I'm sure you'll see lots of posts from me when I need inspiration, LOL!! Thanks again, Melissa

Hi Melissa and welcome to the neighborhood. I hope that you find the support that you need here. As for Starbucks, I too love it. There are a lot of recipes here in the Community Kitchen forum and some of them are alternative drinks for Starbucks. Hopefully, you will find one that you like just as well and can have without guilt! In the meantime, best wishes on a downward turn to the scale!
YAY!!
You're here!!
Lots of love and support!!
Jump right in and you'll be a regular in no time and pick
up a bunch of friends and support on the way :-)
Lots of Hugs!
Nancy
