Hi guys,
Re: chicken salad - while it's not on the 5dpt, don't beat yourself up over it. You were faced with a choice and you made a healthy one. It would have been very easy for you to say F-It and give up - you didn't!!!!!

So...keep on goin!
Re: snacks and skinny cow bars - I haven't got a clue what those are or how much carbs/sugar are in them. Keep in mind, as WLS patients, we are NOT SUPPOSED TO SNACK AT ALL. That doesn't mean you can't eat 5 small meals a day, but those are meals - healthy protein, actual food. Our pouches are VERY SMALL and we need to get as much nutrition in our food in order to get all the nutrients we need. We no longer have the luxury of padding our diet with empty calories (rice, snacks, etc.) Once you're on maintenance, the occassional "treat" is fine, but by that time we should know what we are doing - and only then should you be deciding whether or not you can have a skinny cow bar. It won't be for us to decide. For ME, I've learned that I can't have sugar (oh sure, I CAN, but I can't - if that makes sense). Once I have sugar, it's a quick slide downhill for me. The carb monster comes on full force and I don't just stop at a little - I might for that day "just have a little", but then I'll have some more the next day and keep on going. It's almost like an addiction - most alcoholics can't just have 1 drink every 6 months - it leads to a trecherous (sp?) slope - that's how sugar is for me! As such, I think I'll be keeping my eyes on things like SF chocolate pudding (which I'e really been enjoying) and other SF treats. There's so much stuff out there that's SF, I don't think it should be hard to keep off sugar as much as possible.
Deb - the recipes are for either lunch or dinner. I normally have the same thing for lunch as I have for dinner on each day.
GOOD JOB EVERYONE!!!
