First let me say that I love my magic bullet blender but...after about 8-10 uses the gasket starts giving me problems. I check and double check to make sure it is in the track completely. Then add ingredients and put the blade on. Everything looks good until I stick it on the blender base. Then the mess starts. I have had one chopped up gasket and one messy leak inside the base. How often do I need to replace the gasket? Do I need a touch of oil to keep the gasket seated in the groove? I'm almost ready to give up and get a regular blender.

jas... wow! can you take it back to the store?? I don't think mine HAS a gasket.
I just put the ingredients into the "cup" part and screw the top on. There is no gasket,
or loose rubber ring... can you try doing it w/ out that part with water or nuts..
something non-messy??? I wanna hear what's going on! YIKES!

You have a defective blender. I have had mine for three years and not a bit of trouble. Go to this webpage and put in the information and ask them how to get it replaced. They should then send you the address to ship it to and ship you a new one:

Magic Bullet, contact us

I have had a lot of trouble with Mr Coffee coffee makers in the past and other small appliances. I always find that they are willing to send you a new one but they want the defective one to test first.

I am pretty sure that yours does. It is on the inside of the black part that screws into the cup that the blade is attached to and is actually an "O" ring to seal the liquid in. If that is defective, you would have liquid everywhere. Without it, the same thing. It isn't supposed to be loose. It is tiny and kind of grey colored all around the edge of both of the blade cup inserts (large and small ones).

Well whatdoyaknow!
Sure does. I took a peek and it's stuffed down flush with the surface.
jas, I'll bet yours wasn't seated right when they shipped it.
Big bummer. But send 'er back! (a hassle, I know)
