I'm guilty of slamming it all in after waiting for too long. Here is the trick for next time. Line up all those foods that you want...so that they are within your field of vision and then tell yourself that you can have it all. However, you must wait 20 minutes before starting the next item. Eat the Smart One. Then set the oven timer for 20 minutes. Then eat the portioned out amount of jerky. Then wait 20 minutes...you get the idea. Oh, and the other thing...no fluid! It always works for me. I never eat the second item. 20 minutes goes by and I'm done. Give it a try the next time it happens.

When I wait to long to eat, I know I'll scarf down something and still want more. My trick is to drink a protein shake because I can drink it fast. The shake helps curb the ravenous appetite and for the next 30 min I fix something real to eat. By the time I sit down to eat the real food, I'm back in control.
