Ok, so I was going to start on Saturday but I can't remember what excuse I came up with, then I said oh, it's St. Paddy's day, I can't start today (yesterday)...so this morning I woke up and said no more. I finally started the pouch test!

I didn't have time to make the pumpkin sausage soup and all I had was chicken with rice soup. It's not high in protein but I have a few protein powders with me today (in addition to SF jellos)...I hope the rice part is ok nature-smiley-001.gif

So, anyway, I'm finally starting...I know there are a lot of posts when people start but I felt like I need to be accountable so I'm making an announcement!

That's o.k., you started!! cool0012.gif The pumpkin soup doesn't take long - I say make it for dinner and enjoy it tomorrow too!

Hi Mere,

Good for you for starting!!!!! cool0012.gif You did it!!!

I agree with Toris, make the pumpkin/sausage soup and have it for tomorrow, it is super easy to make and SO tasty!!!!

No rice while on the 5dpt.....it is ok though, you can do it!!!!

Remember lots of water and protein shakes if you like them.

Good luck to you, keep us posted on your progress!!!

Isn't it great to make a good decision and be accountable? Yay Mere!!!!

Congrats! I recently completed my first 5DPT and am so glad I did it. I feel like I'm back in control again and know that I can use it whenever things get sidetracked.

I'm not sure about the rice, think that's something to avoid but you made do with what you had instead of using it as an excuse to put it off.

Hang in there, you are going to be so glad you did. The people here are so great at helping and encouraging, I'm thankful every day I found my way here. Good luck!

Thanks, Jules! I got through day 1 and I feel great. Not only was I not hungry (that pumpkin soup is a life-saver!!), but I feel like I've finally taken control of myself and what I need to do. I think today might be a tad more difficult because I will be out of the office all afternoon running around and that's when I find I'm not drinking my water....at least I know to keep an eye out for it!

Anyway, thanks for your encouragement.

Good luck this afternoon Mere! Take your water with you, just be sure you know where all the McDonald's are, for the clean restrooms! I'm glad you liked the soup, I loved it!
