What a wonderful Idea Kim had earlier this year. wub.gif

When we were discussing "Cleaning House", it seemed to perfect to incorporate Kim's brainchild into our theme.

It is a perfect example for us to visualize our former selves and than give back to the community.

There are many ideas that were shared in the topic.

Diamond Girl, our local Social worker had a thought or two that may help
decide what to donate.

Celadon and Marla brought to my attention that our own local Dollar Stores have a variety of food for those of us on tight budgets.

In our neck of the woods, our Albertson's and Safeway have special 10/$10 items. Look throughout your local Neighborhoods to see what you have available.

Report back to me so they can be mentioned here in the 'Hood.

If you have baby food that you are not going to be using, I know food banks are always happy to have it donated.

Our goal is 1 item= 1 pound.

For all of you outside of the US, I am sorry that I don't know the proper terms in weight compared to a pound.

I CHALLENGE you to teach me.

Anyhow, Neighbors, let's get busy. The time of "New Beginnings", growth and springing to life has just started!!

Marla, do you have anything to add????

I just want everyone to get involved in the one or all of the Spring Cleaning Events!

I was so sick of soup and the baby food that by the time I got on solid food I donated two big sacks to our church who donates to the local food bank. Also this month Curves is doing a food drive so I went through my cereal, pasta and canned goods and donated a large bag to them also. Its rewarding to not only clean out your pantry but helping people also.

With everything that had gone on, I had let this valuable idea fall to the wayside...but now I am BACK!!! I took 10 cans to the local food pantry this morning...which is what I lost over the past 4 days doing liquids only!!! <I know logically it is water weight etc, but gosh darn it all it FEELS good!>

Cmon everyone...where is YOUR lost weight going? Mine is helping others!
