Neighbors!
I'm just getting ready to go to bed and realized that Saturday was officially here...so I figured that I'd start the thread for the weekend since I'll be sleeping in tomorrow! Hope the dogs heard that.
So what's going on??? I was at the Oakland Zoo today for a date and the weather was beautiful! See my new avatar? That bush behind me was beyond gorgeous and happy that Spring was here!
Saturday I'll be on liquids to continue supporting Marianna in her liquid day. I plan on spending lots of time doing Spring stuff...like perhaps grooming the dogs and planting some new flowers for the backyard. That is what I'm feeling like at the moment. We'll see how I feel in the morning!
So Neighbors...what are you all doing? Fun stuff? Parties? Shopping? Church? Anyone working???

Hi Kim and everyone!
I am working Saturday, but off Sunday. I have not been feeling good lately, hence my absence from the neighborhood. Hopefully, things will get better from here.
For those of you who celebrate Easter, have a wonderful holiday. To those of you who don't, have a GREAT weekend!
Hope to be around more soon.

Good morning Kim and happy Easter weekend! I love the new picture. You look like spring yourself! I hope the dogs sleep in so you can too!
I started my weekend yesterday. It is also beautiful here in Florida, temps in the 70,s so I spent most of yesterday in the back yard. Weeding flower beds and edging the patios and cleaning up all the outdoor furniture. Today I will be working on some lose screens on the Florida room and doing some pruning and planting spring flowers in pots around the patio. Tomorrow, we will mow all the lawns and have a family gathering for dinner. It is a time of celebration and renewal for us so that is why I want the yards to look as good as they can.
I have to say that this year it is so easy to do the gardening that I love. No sore knees or back and no tendonitis flaring up! I am thrilled to be physically able to spend the entire day in the yard without having to spend a week recouperating! Now if the pool water would just hurry up and get warm, I would be completely happy!
So, what is everyone else doing for Easter weekend?

Kim,
Love the new pic! I'm cleaning house and packing my bags this weekend. Wed. I'm leaving for New york City and Sat. next I'll be performing at Carnegie Hall. It sounds more impressive than it actually is. I belong to a small adult chior in Russellville, a nearby town. The members were invited to sing with the Masterworks Festival Chorus performing the John Rutter "Requiem" under the Direction of Dr. Rene Clausen.
So far, the mass chior will be about 390 strong. I'm getting there the easy way. Mass chiors like this are usually made up of amatuer singers. Naturally, Dr. Clausen and the soloists and orchestra got there the hard way. I'm getting there cause I my director here is also on the board of the Boston Opera and I have the price of the plane ticket.
This is the very first time I've ever been to New York. I'll only be there four days. Luckily, we're staying at the Park Central, which is right across the street from Carnegie Hall. It looks like I'll be in walking distance to about everything.
So in advance, for next Sat.'s post, I'll be having lunch at the Museum of Modern Art, performing at Carnegie Hall in the evening then attending a midnight cruise reception on the Hudson from 12 -2am. The following Mon. I'll be back at the lake

Oh, I am officially jealous!

You'all have beautiful weather, and we got 6 more inches of snow last night. Sigh. I am soooooo ready for spring...
My weekend will be finishing up my taxes, painting my bedroom, and celebrating Easter! I got a head start on it all yesterday - was off of work. Yipee! Guess I'll be making snow angels instead of cleaning up the gardens! Please have some fun in the sun for me...

Had to get up at 430 this morning and get to the office so a client could drop off his dog and go to Mexico or something..... oh well, that's what feeds my horses, and us. We closed the office for today and tomorrow for the long weekend as we're full anyway and won't have any clients until Monday. Therefore, I'm heading home soon, get the wife outta bed and maybe hitch up the boys for a pull later. If it gets nice enough I'm going to go for a bike ride too.
Spring is slowly coming around, but the snow isn't all gone yet. I might have to cook a dead bird or something, we'll see.

Ok, Lee, you try to play this down quite a bit, but this is awesome! Congratulations. What an amazing trip you've got going! And your choir must be really really good to receive such an invitation! Kudos and HAVE FUN!

This all looks great everyone! Except for the new snow. That's just not right. Snow after the first day of spring is just, well, too cold. Geanne, I hope that you will take the bull by the horns and get out there and do something silly in the snow today. I have never really lived where it snowed, but you guys all have things you do with it to make it acceptable: build things from it, move it around, make snow cones? I would sprinkle splenda and powdered protein on it and eat it all!
Now Stu, your day sounds really fun! As long as you don't drag around the dead bird and cook one of the pullers! That grill of yours looks like it could do the job either way.
Kim, the avatar photo looks like the weather cooperated fully! And the fact that you're having to post at midnight is a good indicator too that things were awesome! Very good. Looking forward to a good story later!
Gretchen, don't work too hard today! Try to peek in when and if you can get away with it. Being naughty always helps the time fly, doesn't it?
Celadon, you're being so good pulling the weeds already. You will surely be glad when your garden is fabulous this spring! Now, could you fly out here and give me a hand with mine?
I WANT to work out in the green house today. My poor traumatized pets want me to stay close to the house today, but I have a craving to go out to my "secret place" for a long walk too. And then there are the boys. They are bringing the girls over this evening for games and fun. I will have a houseful tonight, and dh will show the photos of the trip on the big screen etc. Should be fun.

Morning everyone!
Kim! I love the new avatar, very pretty!!!
This morning, DH & I are heading to Reno until Monday. We're seeing one of our favorite comedian's, Craig Ferguson's stand up show. We're looking forward to getting away for a change. Should be beautiful weather, I hope so anyway!!
Lee - what a great Easter weekend you have planned! Congratulations to you!
Happy Easter to all if you celebrate and happy spring weekend to everyone!

First of all, Lee, I am sooooooooo jealous! What a fabulous trip.
Kim, love the new avatar pic.
Geanne, sorry about that new snow. I'm been in Cleveland during a snow. It's even worse than other places in Ohio during a snow!
Christine, the grandbaby is beautiful! I know I speak for the neighborhood when I say we are all sending you and your family hugs. Healing will come.
Barbara, good for you! I have a black thumb (read: I kill every plant I touch) so I don't do the gardening.
Stu, do you run a boarding kennel?
Sandi, how nice to have a "secret place" to go for some peace & quiet.
Jules, have a great time!
Hope I didn't miss anyone. I have been online and ordered three new necklaces from BCOutlet at fabulous prices!!! I'm planning to do some shopping, maybe pick up a new outfit for tomorrow. I have gift certificates from Christmas that are just burning to be used. I'm singing with the worship team at church tomorrow, along w/ some others who aren't regularly on the team. Have some cleaning to do & DH has been wanting to re-arrange the living room, so we may get that done if he's up to crawling under the house to re-route the cable. Haven't decided about tomorrow's lunch. We're pretty un-adventurous here...pretty laid back so will just "go with the flow" and see what comes up. The temp got to almost 60 yesterday, but it is looking a little dreary out there this morning. Warm weather, please get here soon!
Have a wonderful weekend, all! You are loved & appreciated.

Wow!!! I love waking up to all of these posts! I might just have to start the Weekend Thread at midnight EVERY week! It's very motivating to see all that is going on. I just love that everyone is LIVING...even those that are trapped in the snow...brr!
I didn't get to sleep in...Rosie has an internal time clock as far as her stomach is concerned. If she doesn't get fed when she believes it to be an appropriate time, she'll wake me by puking. Nothing like jerking out of bed to the sound of a wretching dog. Then she just stands there wagging her tail..."Well, since you're up, you might as well fill up my bowl!" It's a good thing that I love her so much.
Everyone enjoy the day!

I'm happy to be home right now...my honey is here and even snuck in on me by showing up a few hours early! The kiddo is home too after a week gone with his dad. I'M HAPPY!
Yesterday, I took the day off and went for a walk I was gone for 3 hours and 40 minutes! Man my legs hurt! lol.. I did alot of shopping along the way! Luckily I couldnt carry much home but my little over the shoulder purse was full and my hands too with new Mizuno walking shoes and a few groceries! TOO FUNNY! None of it was planned but I enjoyed it. Along with NO HEADPHONES! Lately I have just been taking in ALL that is around me....JUST BEING AWARE as Eckart Tolle says.
We also went to dinner and then out to visit my parents...that was nice.
Today no real plans...gotta go back and pick up a few items that I had looked at yesterday. A new commercial vacuum and a bicycle trainer! I have decided I MUST BUMP Up my exercise and THIS is going to DO THE TRICK! I will get this last 20 lbs off if its the LAST THING I DO! lol.
My yards are all planted, the sun is shining beautifully and I have no idea where the day will take us!!

My allergies seem to be in high gear today. MUST STOP SNEEZING. There is no rain and the sun is out in the Northeast!
Today I slept in and already cleaned up the kitchen a bit. I have to run to downtown at 1pm and order shower invitations. I need to shower.
After being sick for a week, Mom thinks she may have conjunctive eyetis. She is far from happy. She is heading over to the doctor shortly. She and I are going to the movies later. We are finally seeing The Other Boleyn Girl. I can't wait.
I will be cleaning my room and mixing some paint. Then tonight I will be going to the airport with mom to pick up dad. Dad was in Vegas for his big man trip!
Ethan is home. His movie screened at the Boston Underground Film Festival (BUFF) yesterday afternoon. I hope he wakes up soon so that he can tell me all about it.
Tomorrow - I have no idea what I am doing. I might go to the bead store with a friend and make some jewelry. I need to help mom prepare for Passover...

Jean, you sound like you're doing some much needed "me time" and I'm highly in favor of that!
Smiles: I love the sound of going to an Apple Valley! I hope that it's all in bloom for you.
Mickee: I love Craig too. And your darling gd is a doll.
Julie: I know that your happiest times is when you are all home. I imagine that that you are having a great bfast in that pretty sunny kitchen of yours....hope that you're completely blissed out with your guys.
Now Marla: you and your family just have a ton of stuff going on. I cannot believe your mom is going to try to keep the whole passover ritual happening when she's so sick. Conjunctivitis is a sign that she's seriously run down. Isn't there a scaled back, "Plan B" version? And Ethan is just a god. Now your dad: what was the big guy trip? What was the premise of this guy trip??? hmmmmm?
Carry on neighbors. sounds like a ton of living is going on!

Good morning...umm, afternoon I mean! It is 1:30, and we just got up a half hour ago...guess that means we slept in..lol! I was happy to see that we woke to a sunny day that seems to be melting the snow..but around here, that can change in an instant. I understand Geanne's pain..lol! I WISH I was in CA enjoying that sun with all of you west coasters! That picture is beautiful Kim!
Today is going to consist of giving my little babydog <she is 2, but is only 10lbs so she is always my babydog> a bath...doing more research on my dissertation <I am finally feeling up to it..yay!!!>, doing some spring cleaning around the house, and if time permits afterwards, going to the yarn store with a friend, giving her sons their easter baskets that I put together last night, and locking myself in my craft room to organize ALL that stuff!
Tomorrow I am going to have a nice lazy easter with my family. Mel and the girls and I will make dinner together...watch a movie, and just spend time.
Today I am still on liquids...and am doing great! TY to all those that are doing it with me!!!
HUGS!
Kim

Hey Marianna...I'm jealous of your sleeping in! I'm sticking with ya on the liquids thing. Two shakes down, a pot of ginger/lemon/green tea and now I'm about to have some carrot/ginger soup from Trader Joes.
So far today, I've planted some beautiful things! I've got an herb pot with spearmint, peppermint, lemon thyme and chamomile. It smells like heaven! I added two hanging pots to the yard...one is jasmine and the other is a gardinia...SWEET! Finally, I put together a big planter that has my braided azalea in the center and then pansies all around. It is an extremely happy looking pot. Wouldn't you know it, I ran out of potting soil and had to make a second trip...pisser!
As far as grooming goes, I've trimmed 12 paws worth of toenails and have removed the slippers from my pups feet. I'll tackle the bath thing once I get this soup in my body!
Everyone have a rockin' fun spring day!

Howdy Neighbours
It's nearly midday Sunday here and I'm having a lazy weekend so far.
Friday I went for a walk and managed to get my DH to come with me. I think it's the first time since my op that we've done this together. His initial reaction was "It's my day of rest" which is fair enough as he's working in a vineyard at the moment and they're just starting harvest so he's been doing a lot of walking of late. Sometimes 15km+ a day. Well, not everyday. My reaction to his pathetic protest was "But I thought you'd encourage and support me to go for a walk darling

" Which he did. We had a lovely walk up and over a hill and managed 6.5kms. We both enjoyed it very much. DH was most impressed with the fact that neither of us huffed and puffed our way up the hill or needed to stop for a rest at any stage. Oh, and I lead the pace for a change!
Friday afternoon was mostly taken up with Live Chat in the 'hood. It was great fun as there were quite a few regulars in there. That reminds me, I have to set some homework for a certain neighbour who had absolutely nooooooo idea where New Zealand is. I promised not to name her so I won't but I have sent her a PM today! hehehe
Saturday morning I had to work and no sooner had I got home and my DH got called in to work. Them ripe grapes wait for no man! I decided to head in to town and wonder the shops along with all the other holidaymakers. I had great pleasure in wondering in and out of clothing shops that I wouldn't have dared cross the threshold of pre-op. I felt like I belonged for once. Mind you, most of them my wallet didn't feel like it belonged! Yooweee the prices some people will pay for clothes! I headed for the less expensive shops and added to my winter wardrobe a little. I bought a gorgeous bright mustard, yellow long sleeved top and a grey and black sleeveless vest. Can't wait to wear those! After doing the grocery shopping (very hard to push/stear a shopping trolley with one hand!) I headed home and blobbed out on the couch. My diet for the rest of the day was shocking! Boredom eating aaarrrrgggghhhh Potato chips, sparkling wine, 1 mint marshmallow dark chocolate easter egg. I didn't eat all this together but I grazed rather than eating a good meal. That easter egg finished me off at about 9pm. Had to take my slightly dumping butt to bed. Will I ever learn?!!
Today is rather cold as fall is here now so DH and I are having a day inside. He's watching blinkin Star Trek at the moment. Yuk! Hence my many posts at the moment. Where would I be without the 'hood to fill in my days. I am going to go for another walk up the hill at some stage today. Probably mid afternoon.
Well thats it so far. Nothing inspiring but I am being quite lazy this weekend because I have the rest of the week off too and the list of things I plan on doing is rather long so I'll call this my holiday and then work like crazy on my chores the rest of the week.
Have a great weekend everyone. Watch out for those darn easter eggs!

Hello Lovies!! Happy Spring everyone!
I know I am late but considering I usually never get on at all on the weekends this is good for me.
It sounds like everyone is having amazing weekends. Mine is off to a great start. We had unexpected visitors for a sleep over last night. My sil, bil, and niece all stayed over and we had a late night watching movies and coloring easter eggs. The boys also went for a round of laser tag. The parasite was not cooperating so I couldn't play as I was having "growing" pains.
Today has been good though. I made a pot of gravy (meat sauce) from scratch in order to make 2 trays of lasagna (one to freeze) and 3 trays of stuffed shells. My freezer and my family are nice and full now. I got some WAY overdue maternity shopping out of the way. It wasn't as much fun as I was hoping it would be even being a lot smaller than with the boys there is something about the new found curves and the lovely dressing room mirrors that kind of rob you of that "glowing" feeling
The boys have a playdate right now. My girlfriend had a wedding to go to so I have had her boys here for the past 4 hrs. 2 6 yos, 1 7yo and a 9yo. I definitely have a house full of life right now and it feels good.
Tomorrow we will do a big easter egg hunt and and then an early dinner with my mom and grandma. I am actually not cooking. I am not sure I will know what to do with myself.
Sending love and sunshine to all the chilly ones out there.
