Hello, I am new here just registered today. I hope all are having a wonderful holiday.

I have been lurking for some time.

I had my surgery 4-17-07, I have had many set backs along the way. I have lost 60 lbs give or take a few depending on the day.

I had Lap RNY, then 155 cm bypassed long limb. I had my surgery at Barix Clinic in Groveport Oh.

I lived on Laxatives for almost 6 months, and then finally between my family doctor and Vitalady, I was able to go off the Laxatives. Then last month I developed Pancreatitis, and had to get my Gallbladder removed.

I am just frustrated at this point with my weight loss. I have started to use Fit Day and I am keying everying in that enters my mouth. I read somewhere to keep the Carb below 10 grams per meal, and to do 90 grams of Protein per day, not including what you get from food. I am very faithful about taking my vitamins, I would say every other week I do take a day away from them and also do a laxative to clean myself out.

I actually dont think I have much malabsorption, and this frustrates me, as my cost of the surgery was nearly 6 grand, and I expected more at this point. I started out at 265 I quit smoking prior to surgery. At this point I am now 205 . Prior to my gall bladder I was at 193. I really need to get my butt in gear. I am thinking of trying all liquids for a few days.

whoa!!!!!! buddy! May I make a suggestion?
(did I hear a "Yes."???) OK...
I hope during your lurking you've read
all about the 5 day pouch test and
slider foods and the need to stay hydrated, etc.
Have you considered the 5DPT? using the hardy
soups recipes strongly suggested???
I would suggest you begin there and
familiarize yourself with the rules that include
  • protein FIRST
  • no drinking 30-60 mins before or after meals
  • familiarize yourself with what "slider foods" are
  • divide your weigh in half to determine the number of ounces of water to consume daily
  • and
  • MOVE more today than you did yesterday.
excuse the paraphrase of Kaye's rules but there's no need for guessing here.
These methods have benefited a whole neighborhood of folks who came in
telling your same story. love0028.gif
I think you are ready for an epiphany! Have fun and take hope knowing that when
we follow the rules the rest will follow!

Welcome to the neighborhood!

I'm sorry you are frustrated. I hope things will begin to look up for you. That "under 10 grams of carbs" thing bothers me every time I see it. Even Dr. Atkins started us out at 20 grams. That is pretty low. Just my opinion.

Mickeefynn...there we go, posting at the same time again. Do you ever feel like you and I are in some kind of parallel online universe? LOL

Ewwwwwwww...Captain Chat...I like that!

I do think the 5dpt is a great way to get bk on track. Congrats on posting and I hope you will take advantage of all the info and support here. It is frustrating on this wls journey. I think we have all expereinced it at some time or another. God Bless and stick around!

I guess I never read or heard of divide my weight in half for my water. WOOOOOOOO that is priceless. I will start with that one tomorrow. I think next week after grocery shopping I will get my stuff for the soup. You guys are the best.

And You are the first to notice the Cap'n Chat thing!
One of those ornery Administrators added that.

Hi Thunder Mom and Welcome! Did I understand you correctly when you wrote in the intro that you are getting 90 grams of protein a day and that does NOT include the food you eat? Was that a typo, or did I read it wrong?

Actually the stuff you're doing looks good to me, and I'm a big believer in using Fitday, so I applaud that. Not sure what's going on for you, but it sounds like you've had a rough go of it. I'll be watching your posts and hope to help you figure out what your "magic" program will evolve into.

Hey, what are you doing for exercise each day? How many minutes, what intensity, etc? I remember for me, I didn't start losing consistently until I upped my exercise to 60 minutes a day 6 days a week...
